Just got an e mail reassuring me my order from a week ago today is in the shipping queer, uh queue. Says the response to the sale was far greater than they had expected.

Where do you go to see how many copies remain? I want to buy THE DRIVER which is supposed to be under 200 but I would like to know when it gets close to selling out.

I see that but it doesn't have a countdown to 50. It says under 200. The poster said that Bell, Book and Candle was down to 50. Where did he see that? On the 1st post of this thread?

Experiment in Terror is Blake Edwards at his best...

It is Candlestick Park in SF, the entire movie was filmed in SF....

The count in the first post is correct as of the date shown. After Picnic sold out today, I added a note that the totals shown are going to change soon when Twilight Time releases new numbers after the end of their 4th Anniversary sale. This should be obvious, but I wanted to make it clear.

The Driver was not on sale, so its numbers likely did not fall as much as some of the others on the list that were on sale. My advice is if you want it, then get it soon. Why mess around waiting to the last minute?

EDIT: the below 50 count for Bell, Book, and Candle comes from the SAE website. When stock gets below 50 on a title, the count will show up when you try to order more than that number.

Thanks for the info. I have spent so much on this sale that I need to wait a little before I buy again. My wife has already informed me on this multiple times. I want THE DRIVER and HARD TIMES and both are nearing their limit. I just would like to know when they get down to 50 so I can place another order.

Bell, Book, & Candle sold out also on SAE. I ordered it this morning before taking off, it showed as at least 50 copies left, didn't think it'd sell out those final copies in less than 8 hours.

Well, both The Driver and Hard Times are showing a quantity of 50 so you're in luck.

Why wait, just order them now?

Since I am a big fan of Bell, Book, and Candle, I think it should have sold out years ago, like Rapture and a few other titles. Bell, Book, and Candle is an old-school romantic comedy about a coven of witches living in Greenwich Village; one in particular, played by Kim Novak, develops an interest in her "mortal" neighbor, played by Jimmy Stewart. The comedy is handled very well, mostly light and not necessarily laugh-out-loud funny, which only adds to the undeniable charm of the film as it casts a spell on the viewer. This is a hugely enjoyable movie. The PQ is gloriously grainy and colorful, with a jazzy soundtrack. Kim Novak and Jimmy Stewart are fun to watch and Jack Lemmon is trippy as the carefree musician brother of Novak's character. Lemmon steals every scene he is in, obviously relishing his role as a warlock. This is just an all around classic film with a lot of heart. It was an influence on the later 1960s classic sitcom Bewitched.

EDIT: It is still showing up on the SAE website with 48 available. If anyone is on the fence, I would not sit too long.

Wow... I didn't know there was a sale until 7mins before it ended. I pulled the plug on The Believers! Now I'm psyched!

To 'oildude' and yourself, thanks. I searched for it a little while ago and nothing was showing up other than the soundtrack. So I wasn't spelling anything wrong. Wonder if there was a hiccup or someone accidentally placed an order for a lot of copies?

Same thing happened to me with Bell,Book when I searched it a few hours ago, I had to click on it several times over a minute or so before it showed up again

Yes, the witchy world in which Bewitched was set was based on that of Bell, Book, and Candle, whether they acknowledged it or not.

My mother's sorority had a cat named Pyewacket.

Lemmon absolutely steals the show. He's a hep cat, but he's got a coldness to him.

I think they wanted to pair Stewart and Novak again to follow up on the success of Vertigo. I don't think it's as good, but both films do a very good job working around Novak's acting skills.

I've always found it wonderfully weird that they also both starred in the completely different film, Vertigo, and in the same year too
