Thanks for the lecture. Actually... I already own that title. Still, even if I didn't, what if I was new to the game, just found out about Twilight Time and was planning on getting it today with some pre-orders? If it sold out during the natural course of events, fine. But if someone just snapped up all the remaining copies, well it's an oft-repeated discussion on these forums, but it's kind of a lame thing to do.

I guess it depends where you are, my orders consistently take about two weeks to ship from wherever (Virginia?) to Saskatoon.

Oh, I'm not crying over it. I was wavering on it, almost bought it yesterday, but figured I'd drag it out to when it was under 20 copies, because I was also mulling Zardoz and would've placed them in the same order. It was at 22 copies and I made a run to the store. Come back, check an hour after that, and it's disappeared from my cart.

I just went ahead and ordered a copy from Amazon from Screen Archives (Marketplace Seller). I assume they'll cancel and honor the earlier scalper order, but worth a shot.

A Man for All Seasons with a 4k transfer is going to be amazing. Highly recommend blind buys especially if you like classic medieval epics like Lion in Winter and Becket.

Also getting Hombre as a blind buy.

Edited: I meant to say Becket. Must have been a mind typo (a mind-o?) the first time around.

I'm new to buying titles from TT. What's the deal with the signed copies? How do you buy them?

TT usually announces signed titles a few weeks in advance with the date the signed copy will become available at SAE. Based on past titles there have been about 1 or 2 per month. These copies are extremely limited (~100 or so copies) and they can sell out with a few minutes to a few hours after they go up for promotion. There is a minimum purchase requirement of other TT product to get the free signed copy. The amount varies based on the signed product but lately it's been either $119.80 or $149.75.

Bought Mississippi Burning and Hombre as planned.

Blind bought Man of All Seasons based on the excitement of people around here and on the Facebook page. It isn't my usual cup of tea but I think I'm excited to see it.

Paul Scofield brought home an Oscar for his performance as Sir Thomas More in A Man For all Seasons. That should tell you something. Robert Shaw, Orson Welles, Susannah York, and John Hurt are a strong supporting cast. Three excellent purchases. You will have no regrets.

Interesting that you took my post as a lecture. Thought I was just stating relevant facts.

Agree with you there. Though it wouldn't surprise me at all if those were individual purchasers. The rationale being that as it gets down to only about 20 copies remaining everyone who is aware of this fact and is on the fence about purchasing should know they have to make their decision immediately or risk losing out.

Cool! I've been wanting to see Mississippi for years, and Hombre is something entirely new to me. So I'm very excited for that week.

Screen Archives cancelled my order from Amazon. I wish I could give them feedback on Amazon. Reason, they shouldn't list inventory they don't have. If they're going to list copies on Amazon, set that particular number aside.

My order from last week just arrived, way faster than I expected. I think it's safe to say they've completely caught up on orders.

"Mississipi Mermaid" with Belmondo and Deneuve will always be released on 9th June.

Is the cover already out like they did with "State of Grace?
