JC's Vampires is a definite. I can finally retire my DVD of it and add another Carpenter film to the collection.

Got a couple "maybe" titles I'll use for promotions down the road. 10 To Midnight because it's a Bronson flick and Count Yorga, Vampire since it looks to be very Hammer-esque.

The others I'm not too sure about. Surprisingly horror heavy but makes sense since they've actually lined it up for October.

Maybe pick-ups for Scream and Scream Again and Vampires.

I'm genuinely surprised at the Yorga love here and on the TT Facebook group. I caught it a few years back and thought it was borderline unwatchable; not scary, not interesting, not atmospheric, and boring as tar. Didn't do a damn thing for me, so hey, more copies for you guys.

Breaking it down...

September:
Yes - 10 to Midnight, Emperor of the North
Maybe - Angel
No - At Close Range, Fat City

October:
Yes - Vampires, Scream and Scream Again
Maybe - Devil in a Blue Dress
No - Black Widow, Count Yorga, Strange Invaders

Strong months in any case.

Thanks CB. Twilight Time actually announced last year that they would be releasing it at some point. I was beginning to wonder when. Great '80s drama with probably Walken's best role, and also one of the few movies where Sean Penn doesn't seem to overact.

For my taste, that's the best bunch of title announcements to ever come from Twilight Time. A lot of must-buys and the rest are probables.

(Which adds nothing to the discussion but I haven't posted in this thread for awhile and wanted to voice my approval ).

Been a slow year for my A-list so it's good to see DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS and EMPEROR OF THE NORTH. Both are tough, under-rated movies.

i'll also pick up FAT CITY, ANGEL, SCREAM AND SCREAM AGAIN, AT CLOSE RANGE and VAMPIRES.

COUNT YORGA is rubbish but I might go for it. BLACK WIDOW is also good but I'm in no great hurry to see it again.

The only one there I'm not interested in is 10 TO MIDNIGHT but I don't really know what it is.

Also, given that Arrow and MOC fish in similar waters to TT, I wouldn't be surprised to see UK releases of ANGEL, FAT CITY, VAMPIRES, and COUNT YORGA. Possibly SCREAM AND SCREAM AGAIN and EMPEROR too.

Sadly no 3D or even vintage (pre 1965) CinemaScope in the lineup so very little for me on this schedule. Probably just Ten to Midnight and maybe At Close Range 😕

agreed... horrified by the potential expense with this batch

already planning a strategy of which titles I must buy quickly and which ones I can wait for their yearly sale....

The exact opposite for me. Nothing that I'd be in any big hurry to get. The only two from September that interest me are Fat City and Angel; and the only one from October that interests me is Devil in a Blue Dress (well, maybe Black Widow).

these are the ones that I want.... I never liked Vampires, one of Carpenter's worst and most unappealing films in his library

I'm thinking 10 to Midnight, Emperor of the North, and Scream and Scream Again, although Strange Invaders and At Close Range might show up as well.

This is a fine batch of titles that, while fairly popular, probably won't sell out for a month or two. (Save for the John Carpenter film, which I've seen and will probably let pass me buy on Blu-ray.)

Of course, I may not be buying any of these any time soon, since the offer that I placed on a home was accepted yesterday, and I'll be sweating out the due diligence, closing period, transition, and such over the next couple of months.

I agree... I found it overlong, gory and repetitive. For me its 10 to Midnight, and maybe Emperor of the North (not the Aldrich I was hoping for but still a fine film)

Wow, hardly anything speaks to me in this announcement.

JC's Vampires is just awful, awful, awful. The first big sign that JC had lost his touch -- Ghosts of Mars was the clincher. I would be tempted to buy it just to turn a quick buck reselling it to rabid JC completists, but part of me worries that it might not be as big a sell and I'd be stuck with it!

The others I haven't seen. Usually with TT that would mean that there's some hidden gems for me to discover, but reading descriptions, the only one that sounds outright good is Emperor of the North and that will probably be my only blind buy. At Close Range, Black Widow and Devil in a Blue Dress seem solid, but may not resonate enough to want to own. The horror movies have some intriguing elements (Price&Cushing&Lee! 70s vampirism!), but the final verdict I get from reviews is they each fail to coalesce into an enjoyable film.

Agreed, I also couldn't stand VAMPIRES, but it will definitely be a fast seller because of Carpenter's name.

I can see 10 to Midnight also selling fast as it's a pretty grim horror film masquerading as just another Charles Bronson action pic. I think many horror fans aren't even aware of it, but that could change with reviews. It's easily my most anticipated of these current announcements.

I'm in for 10 to Midnight, Count Yorga, At Close Range, Scream and Scream Again, Fat City, Strange Invaders, and probably Angel. I know I should pick up Vampires just because it's a sure sell-out, but I just can't stand the film.
