Just a heads-up, there are fewer than 75 copies remaining of The Blue Max according to TT

Wow! I haven't been keeping up and had no idea they were releasing Carpenter's Vampires on Blu-ray.

Speaking of not keeping up with TT news, have they mentioned anything about that re-release of Christine?

Earliest they could re-release Christine is March 2016.

I see the TCM HD channel has both One Million Years, B.C and She on tonight (8 pm est). I don't know if they are in true HD but maybe it's a sign the BDs could be in the works? I know both are Hammer productions with OMYBC being distributed by Fox but I wonder if TT could get their hands on both?

Picked up the Thunderbirds double feature along with the new Code Red bundle at SAE, combined shipping costs. I haven't seen Thunderbirds Are Go in years and I have never seen Thunderbird 6 so I'm in for a real treat.

Default One Million Years B.C.

For any Harryhausen fans ... TCM will be showing One Million Years B.C. tonight at 8:00 p.m. EST. (That's 15 minutes from when this was posted). I'm fired up.

I mentioned this a few posts up but the best thing is it's the uncut version. The HD is a mixed bag. Some scenes look pretty darn good while others meh. The colors looked even more washed out than I remember in most scenes. On a side note....Loana is one smokin' hot cave babe. She seems to always be in HD focus throughout the movie

Sorry about that. I got excited when I turned on the TV and saw it listed in the TCM guide as coming up. I didn't think to look at past posts. (There I go shooting from the hip again).

I didn't realize this was the uncut version, but had a hunch that it was. When I do a Google search looking for the differences in the cut vs. uncut versions, it seems to me that this movie has been so cut up over the years, that it's hard to tell if there really is an indisputable definitive version anymore. Minor spoiler alert: I thought I noticed at least one extended scene from what I remember in the past. I'm talking about the scene
[Show spoiler]in the lair of the cannibalistic tribe
.

No worries! I was pleasantly surprised to see the uncut version. I do own the UK dvd but I'm not sure I've ever seen that version on US tv. There are quite a few extended scenes with two of them being Harryhausen scenes (archelon and the allosaurus).
[Show spoiler]I guess the most infamous scene is the Martine Beswick fertility dance.....caveman perv action at its best

Once in a while, I regret not paying the 90 dollars a month for cable TV. Would be nice to see One Million Years BC in HD!

On a hunch I just did a quick bedtime check on my community mailbox and found "The Young Lions" sitting there waiting for me (due in on Friday) along with "A Man For All Seasons". This is one of my all-time favorites and expect to enjoy it tomorrow night as much as I have on the first, and subsequent, viewings. Don't know if this has been posted before but I can't sum up the film's merits better then Gary Tooze has done.

If you haven't seen the film previously the review does contain a spoiler regarding the final scene, so be warned.

Well I think everybody pretty much knows that the Germans lost the war, and the final scene was not that hard to see coming, and the thrust of the film was the whole epic journey moreso than a plot-point in any case, but you are right in suggesting caution. Mea culpa.
