Pre-orders are rarely, if ever, announced more than a month or so ahead of time. So don't expect the September titles to get an announced pre-order date until after the pre-orders for the August titles have happened. Generally speaking, they are two weeks ahead of the release date. The most likely date for the September releases (street date: September 8) is August 26.
Always check the first posting in this thread. oildude is very good about updating it when pre-orders are announced. |

That has a release date 9/29/15. I doubt Sony will release it before the 3 year exclusivity agreement is up next March (unless perhaps the early sellout voids the necessity of adhering to the agreement for the full 3 years, but I doubt it).

EDIT: As more evidence, just look at JTTCOTE which was originally released on May 8, 2012 but re-released on March 10, 2015. |

The trouble with assuming that the window begins with either of the factors you suggest is that, if true, means that TT would only have a 2½-year exclusive window to sell their disc, which wouldn't be in their favor. The contracts probably have a "This Date or That Date, Whichever Comes First or Last" clause. At any rate, another possibility is that Sony bargained with Twilight Time to release their (Sony's) edition of Christine ahead of the window closing by giving them better terms on one or more other titles. From the vantage point of us consumers, it's all guesswork. |

Just received my shipping notification for my 6 titles including the promo. I'm in Canada though, so it should take a couple weeks to get here.

I don't think anyone would believe the studios would have TT, nor will TT, sign a contract stating the three year window starts solely upon signing of the contract even if the master isn't ready. If that were the case and the master wasn't ready for an additional three years, for example, then that would mean TT never gets an opportunity to release it. Just not going to happen. |

A recent sci-fi Japanese film is coming in 3D from TT in December. Anyone have any guesses?

No clue but I'm very intrigued. Speaking of Sci Fi, TCM is having a great Earth vs aliens movie marathon tonight. Starting it off is a great Harryhausen classic.
With the recent news about Sony's release of Christine on blu I wonder if I'll regret ordering the Aussie Harryhausen 4 pack BD (7th Voyage, Golden Voyage, Eye of the Tiger, and Jason). |

A guess would be "2046", which is a pretty good sci-fi film without a BD release. That may be classified as a Hong Kong film though. I can't think of any recent prominent Japanese sci-fi films. |
