They seem to already have them in stock because my order has already been packaged and is awaiting shipment.

Anyways, there are some titles I have on my wish list (Hombre, the Woody Allens...) and was going to wait for the next sale to possibly getting a small discount (which I remember occurred at their anniversary around March?). But I find myself very tempted to get Guess Who's Coming to Dinner and House of Bamboo.

Anyone want to guess who long it will take for Guess Who's Coming to Dinner and House of Bamboo to sell out? Based on the speed of previous title's selling out.
Two fantastic films to be sure, I'm reasonably sure that both will still be around 8 months from now but if I had to choose only one to get right away it would be Guess Who's Coming To Dinner, a truly wonderful movie that gives you a warm, feel-good feeling every time you watch it and in which every single cast member gives a sterling unforgettable performance

Yes, I think it depends on what you are in the mood for. Luckily I was able to get both today. If I only could of purchased one it would have been House of Bamboo. Tomorrow it could have been Dinner. :-)

Twist my arm why don't you? I just purchased both, using an account for myself and an account for my girlfriend. I do feel kinda of gross for being that cheap for a 5 dollar discount, but I did just pay off 1500 on a credit card. So hey, it all even's out at the end.

I love both of these films dearly. I guess I'm in the TT club now.

For me, House of Bamboo and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner were no-brainers, because I've always wanted both of them on Blu-ray. Especially House of Bamboo, because I'm taking it upon myself to own each and every classic-era film noir from the 1940s and 1950s that is available on Region A Blu-ray.

However, is anybody else, like me, taking a total leap of faith with a blind buy of Summer Lovers? It looks as though some of you have ordered it, and I'm curious as to who has seen it before.

I was personally sold on the idea of buying Summer Lovers because of the soundtrack. Depeche Mode's "Just Can't Get Enough", Prince's "Sexy Dancer" and "Sexuality", Heaven 17's "Play to Win", The Pointer Sisters's "I'm So Excited", and several others by Tina Turner, Elton John, etc.

Back in the summer of 1982, when I was 10 years old, the Chicago song, "Hard to Say I'm Sorry", played on the radio about every half hour or so, and it's impossible for me to hear that song without smiling at the memories of that childhood summer, although the song itself is sort of a slow and sad buzzkill.

Now, don't get me wrong... The idea of a comedy in an exotic setting with plentiful nudity helped to convince me about the movie as well, but the soundtrack is what got me.

Can someone clarify on the SHIPPING5 discount that has been mentioned???

Is this for the SAE website or new Twilight Time website orders.
Or both???

AND, is the TT website including slipcovers on new items? There is a second photo on most of the items they show there, could it be slipcovers?

I have no will power when it comes to buying Blu rays. Both of these films will probably look the best they ever have looked on any format. I'm very excited to have them both.

Something to remember; in March TT has a weeklong sale when they mark down almost all of the catalog down to $19.99 for the $29.99 titles and $14.99 for the $24.99 titles. People usually stock up when they have this sale.

SHIPPING5 is for SAE only. It worked successfully for me.

Not slips, but for the little pamphlet/booklets they include with every release.

I've got more than my share of trash in my collection, but Summer Lovers is pretty bad for $30+. It should look outstanding though, but Daryl Hannah doesn't get naked enough for me lol.

I saw Summer Lovers in the theater in 1982, along with the girl that was living with me at the time. We thought it was a slow-moving, boring, soft core porn. We were in our mid 20s, so we were likely too old for it.
Seeing it come up for $30.+ at TT surprised me, but to each his own.

Guess Who's Coming To Dinner is a film from the other end of the spectrum. A masterpiece.
Really looking forward to owning it.

Summer Lovers used to run endlessly on cable tv back in the day, I remember it as having not much plot and nothing but jaw droppingly gorgeous people, spectacular Greek scenery, quintessential 80s pop music and lots of skin....if you like that sort of thing

Just pre-ordered Guess Who, Bamboo & picked up Mississippi Mermaid as well. I am up to date now with TT until the Bronson title next month. Can't wait. Then I think 3 titles in October.

I was an usher at a cinema where Summer Lovers opened, and I will never forget a friend mentioning at that time about Darryl Hannah's horrendous acting in the film.... in so many words: "Are you serious, that can't be the same actress that was 'Pris' in Blade Runner!!! She's absolutely terrible in Summer Lovers."

The Pointer Sisters song is the key hit in the film. Well, maybe that's because it happens prominently at the end when ushers like me were about to go in to clean the theater. The movie isn't really a comedy. It's supposed to be a sexy menage-a-trois dramatic romp. It fails at everything, but it is a child of the 80's and it will satisfy many viewers on that alone. I'll probably buy it eventually.

I've seen the European Blu-ray of ...Dinner, it looks pretty sweet, TT's will be as fine no doubt. Let's hope Fox's House Of Bamboo doesn't get the dreaded teal push treatment

I'm sure this is a stupid question but does anyone know where to get a copy of TT's Wild At Heart? Doesn't have to be brand new but does need to be in pretty good condition. Only place I know is eBay & Amazon but both places want $60+. I dont mind even paying $40 but $60 is a bit much lol

That's the going rate for the OOP titles and pretty much the only places to find the sold out titles. But I just send you a PM.

I completely agree with this.
And "Im so excited" was featured prominently in the TV ads.
It comes down to a T & A + a D too I think.
But its nice to look at & its a fun soundtrack

SAE? Do you mean a pre-authorization charge?
