I've been wanting this on BLU since blu started! Robert Richardson's photography should be presented decently since it is a SONY owned film.

According to the Screen Archives rep, that won't work. They have to be in the wish list for a minimum of 30 days.

There are movies I've been wanting to pick up (Pal Joey, Bye Bye Birdie, Bell Book Candle) but I can't get 10% off because I didn't place them in my cart? Kind of ridiculous of you ask me.... Oh well. Enjoy the discounts those of you who got one!
I've never figured out the Best Buy system for those $10 certificates. Sometimes I get them, sometimes I don't. It seems like Best Buy does it once a year - so it's hardly worth worrying about.

KMART has been doing that like crazy. Forget Best Buy, I get a free $5 or $10 from them practically every month. I hate KMART and never shop there otherwise, but I've used those free rewards a few times to grab some popcorn and sodas

My second candidate would be Gilda.
Since TT got Cover Girl, I would think anything in the Rita Hayworth DVD collection is now up for grabs:
  • Cover Girl
  • Gilda - "Well, lookee what we have here!"
  • Miss Sadie Thompson
  • Salome
  • Tonight and Every Night

I'm still hoping that someone - anyone - does The Lady From Shanghai before I need a walker. That one would be another natural choice for Criterion treatment, yet I don't hear any buzz whatsoever on that front...

The *wildcard* here is the Fox Film Noir series. No indication that the studio intends to release them, especially now that they have their hands full with all those "Studio Classics" announced for next year. But there are some reel Noir gems in that DVD series, and any that I did see were nicely remastered (House of Bamboo even got a dual-layer disc).

I realize it's a stretch, but if you're in the right mindset, Michael Curtiz' The Egyptian plays very much like a Noir...only with lavish period sets and costumes. That was a major part of its appeal to me, why it stood out from all the other costume mellers from the widescreen era, and likely why it flopped with mainstream audiences. Not a particularly nice bunch doing heroic, spiritually edifying things...especially to each other.

Yes, that's a good way to put it. I too like this gloomy and thought provoking movie. And the set design and music are both quite impressive....

My pre-order for Bye Bye Birdie (which included an order for TMMITFM) is still pending. Grrr. I know they will eventually ship ... but all of these messages of received shipments make me wonder if TT has a process or if they just ship to whoever's on their order list randomly.

Nah, it's obviously domestic U.S. first, probably grouped by state or region. I mean, some folks stateside already have their Bye Bye Birdie and High Time BDs, yet I just received notice that mine shipped yesterday...and that was for a day one pre-order!

SAE is a small company with limited shipping staff Page 14, so they probably just group their International shipments to make the mass paperwork easier. Typically, I'm among the last here to receive my TT Blu-rays each month...I'm just getting used to that expected lag.

Good to know. I assumed there would be a delay (this is my first time ordering from Screen Archives), but it's good to have some confirmation!

Saves me from getting too anxious awaiting its arrival

I'm in Winnipeg and I got my shipping notice for BYE BYE BIRDIE on Friday morning.

My pre-orders always go out in the first batch.

The delay might just be for people suckered into the registered mail shipments.

No registered mail for me. The same thing happened when I pre-ordered "Journey ...", so it isn't unusual. It's just the waiting when you know it's already out there.

Yeah I feel like a sucker, but we have had packages going missing, and there maybe a postal worker in my area with sticky fingers.

What the hell is TT doing with its menus? I've experienced the issue with them not working on the Insignia (which is no big deal), but now Bye Bye Birdie won't work in my Insignia or Visio.

I realize these aren't state-of-the-art players (and I assume it'll work in one of my better machines, but haven't tested)... but still... it's a damn static menu where you're basically just starting the film. Why put some code on it that'll choke BD players? I seriously haven't seen this problem with any other studio's discs.

I have the same problem with "Bite the Bullet" and "Journey to the center of earth" on my region B yamaha player. But they works fine on my multi region panasonic player.

First time dealing with Twilight Time.
The price points are pretty insane, but they turn out a quality product.

Bye Bye Birdie is an amazing disc, but I have yet to see anything presented that Sony couldn't have done the same with a mainstream release.
