It arrived today:

That was really quick, which was amazing since I chose the standard mail option and it was mailed out on Thursday.

Any word if 1984 will include the Eurythmics score as a soundtrack option?

No Eurythmics option = no sale for me.

Here's what was said about 1984.

It does.

That's good! I was excited enough by the fact that they were doing Nineteen Eighty-Four that I'd forgotten about the soundtrack boondoggle.

However, though I originally saw the film with the Eurythmics' score back during its initial release, and several times since with that score, I would be perfectly OK if the Blu-ray had only the Muldowney score. Firstly, Muldowney's was the score Radford intended to use, with the Eurythmics' score being forced on it by Virgin. And secondly, I have the Eurythmics' 1984 (For the Love of Big Brother) album on CD -- and in my iTunes library -- so it's not like I can't listen to the songs whenever I want.

Well, your systems missed on mine. It's gone from an authorization to an actual charge. I don't mind since I have other vendors that charge in advance ( MusicToday ), but for those living close to the bone, this could cause them a problem.
Twilight Time posted this over at HTF but given it's good information and insight I figured it should also be posted here for the benefit of this forum's members.

This explains the reason for the charge.

This is the first pre-order cycle that we have switched from charging your CC outright when you order, to only authorizing your card and then actually charging it when the pre-order product ships. Please note that orders placed for product in stock will most likely charge right away as those orders usually ship same or next business day.

This month when we made the switch from charge to authorize for pre-orders, it took a few minutes to activate resulting in approx. 20 customers who were actually charged for their pre-orders instead of just having their card authorized. We apologize for that and will activate it a few minutes prior to turning on pre-orders next month to prevent that in the future.

As to shipping, we want to get your movies to you as soon as possible. The date you get them depends on when they are arrive in the warehouse and actual transit time.

Ordered from Twilight Time directly for HOUSE OF BAMBOO for comparisons sake, and I was extremely impressed. Very fast shipping, and received the title before the street (which has never happened for me before). There are three things I want next month, so I'm going to try from them again in the hopes of it going as smoothly.

Like that cover a lot. Can't wait for the release.

Anxious to see the cover for EMPEROR OF THE NORTH.

Yeah, I was hoping they'd use the original artwork. Not too sure about that title font though.

I'm anxious to see the cover for Devil In A Blue Dress. I love the poster for that one.

I think it fits the style of the drawing, but I can see why you aren't crazy about it. I haven't actually seen this film so I can't chime in if I feel it fits it or not.

It's not that it's bad, just that it feels a little strange after seeing the poster for all these years with a different font. Not that it'll stop me from buying it.

Based on stills I've seen from EMPEROR, it has the makings of a stunning piece of art for a cover. I've been impressed with the TT art of late. It has even been making me look things up further that I dismissed upon briefly reading the synopsis.

That's a film I've never gotten around to seeing. Be interested to see what they come up with for the artwork on that one.

Me neither. Picking up 10 TO MIDNIGHT, EMPEROR, and FAT CITY, and looking forward to discovering all for the first time.

I feel the way you do in reverse. I have the Muldowney score on CD, and I'd be OK with a Eurythmics only BD if I had to choose.

I first saw the film with the Eurythmics score, and I actually think it helps give the film a little more penetrating character than the relentlessly austerity Muldowney's score provides. It's one case where I thought studio interference produced a more engaging result.

There's nothing wrong with Muldowney's score, I just think it plays so directly to films aesthetic and pace, that the overall effect with a film this bleak is detachment.

A Film favorite of Mine (Emperor of the North), Keith Carradine's performance is excellent...of course Lee and Ernie are also in top form.

Anyone else still waiting for their 8/11 release titles to ship from SAE?
