My order for Bye Bye Birdie and As Good As It Gets shipped today. I placed the order two days ago so that seems plenty speedy to me (for a small company).

Now the wait for USPS to deliver! Hopefully, it will be here by Saturday so we can do an impromptu Booth Bijou movie night with Bye Bye Birdie!

My Bye Bye Birdie shipped today.

And something weird happened just a few moments ago. I was looking at something on my Blu shelves and noticed I have Demetrius and the Gladiators. The weird thing is that I don't even remember buying it. It's not a case of where you buy half a dozen $6 titles and you don't really pay attention to them very much. This is a $30 title and I should remember that. LOL, I may have too many titles.

Maybe. Probably. Likely.

But I also order batches of stuff at a time from SAE to guarantee a box, since I'm more concerned about safety cross border than speed. Those boxed orders no doubt also get batched for the most efficient use of their shipping resources.

I realize these aren't state-of-the-art players (and I assume it'll work in one of my better machines, but haven't tested)... but still... it's a damn static menu where you're basically just starting the film. Why put some code on it that'll choke BD players? I seriously haven't seen this problem with any other studio's discs.
I think my Oppo (or maybe it was the Panasonic) locked up when I was perusing the pages that show the other titles from Twilight Time. Was a while back but I think I had just finished watching Desiree. No problems with the actual main menu though. Might have possibly happened on another title too.

I'm still hoping that someone - anyone - does The Lady From Shanghai before I need a walker. That one would be another natural choice for Criterion treatment, yet I don't hear any buzz whatsoever on that front...

The *wildcard* here is the Fox Film Noir series. No indication that the studio intends to release them, especially now that they have their hands full with all those "Studio Classics" announced for next year. But there are some reel Noir gems in that DVD series, and any that I did see were nicely remastered (House of Bamboo even got a dual-layer disc).
Man,The Lady From Shanghai would be terrific, but,as you said,it's got "The Criterion Collection" written all over it.
I've seen HD broadcast of Gilda and it looks really good!Hopefully,TT will get around to put it out on Blu soon.
Fox noir's are another intriguing thought. However,i don't think Fox are willing to pass them on to someone else. With "Studio Classics" line being revived i assume it's only a matter of time before Fox put out its noir line on BD as well (or,at least, some of them).

Were are you guys ordering Bye Bye Birdie from? I want this movie but can't find it anywhere but Ebay. Thanks in advance for your reply.

How about Miss Sadie Thompson as TT's first 3-D blu-ray release!

I wouldn't mind picking up Bye Bye Birdie and As Good as It Gets, but damn they are expensive for catalog titles.

Well, I'm having better luck with the mail today.

Yesterday, I got a letter from the doctor telling me I have prostate cancer. Hmmm...I was hoping for something a bit more enjoyable.

I looked in the box half an hour ago and found the standard Pizza Hut and paint store flyers. I assumed that was the mail for today.

But I just heard my mail box door closing (guess those flyers were dropped off by someone else). And I found BYE BYE BIRDIE! Needless to say, I need a good spirit boost.

I'm having real good luck with the shipments from Screen Archives. They are now consistently arriving one week after my shipping notice.
