Don't know why its so expensive in The States. Its Australian release is the equivelant of $US18.50 ($AUD24.98). Release date 24th May.

Awesome! Thanks for letting us know.

One question...is the uhd disk 100gb? Or 66gb?

Selling the remastered BD and digital code would yield at least $15 my guess...another way to look at it and the cost.

But selling the remastered BD makes your cases look positively awkward lol. A missing disc in my case? I mean, it's doable but not my kind of thing. Totally negates resale value as well.

Also, the BD's can be looked at as another form of the presentation. We have no idea of the differences.

I would never look at this proposition as selling a loose disc BD. Who does this lol? And who buys loose BD's with no cover art for 15 bucks? LOL. Good luck with that.

Why participate in the 4K UHD thread then?

Because I can. Because it's interesting to read, and learn from.

I don't think I'll rebuy older movies on UHD, unless I never bought them on Blu ray (Die Hard, T2, etc..)

So it's on the darker side of the blu, but still has less black crush. Hmm...

I agree with you completely on this...except on certain titles. UNFORGIVEN is one of those titles.

So most photochemically timed 35mm-shot movies aren't gonna sit well with UHD, huh?

This is my favorite line from that review:

"You have to remember, 4K discs are going to look darker because they aren’t as grayed up as things used to be."

This is my second-favorite:

"Sometimes the grain in the sky can look noise-like, but its grain."

Yeah there's no question I'll be picking this one up. Upgraded video and audio for an elite picture? Take my money.

I know that this is the 4K section of the forum, but to be honest I would like to buy the remastered Blu-ray stand-alone.

I would save a lot of money and I'm sure a 35mm movie like this, would be just fine in SDR 1080p from a 4K Master...
