Cheers Geoff i was hoping yourself and steedeel could get something today.

Back to normal. textbook Sunderland. Build your hopes up, then smash them to pieces!

Well done Tob and Penton Man.

Hard luck Geoff and decent points for Gvortex and Ocean.

I am not having a dig here steedeel but how do those players go from a win like C.Palace and then forget everything and lose like that to Southampton.

Because we don't have any leaders Tob. You can carry one player at times if you have strength in depth, but we have too many weak minded players. If we go behind, the players don't believe they can get back into it. Combine that with the fact we have too many 'plodders' like Billy Jones, Larson etc.. and it's easy to see where we are heading.
Consistency is also a huge problem. Kone was a rock last week, this week he was a plank.

We need eleven Defoes.

And, y'know, Palace are shit.

Swansea put in a decidedly non-shit performance against Leicester today and thoroughly deserved the points, I think they'll be fine. It's amazing the difference that getting in Clement has made, and to think Palace pulled the trigger on Pardew when they did because they were afraid of missing out on Fat Sam. Then again, I doubt Jesus Christ himself could work the miracle of sorting this Palace side out. As someone said on the Holmesdale forums: Palace can't even get a dead cat bounce, never mind a new manager bounce.

I got back in time to see the last 20 odd minutes of Gillette Soccer Saturday, this past Saturday afternoon (Michelle Owen wasn't on though). I was praying that we could get an equaliser in the last few minutes. I'm still not sure though which Albion player has been credited with the goal.

I do need to ask, how is the microphone getting on after their run-in with Bilic?

Was shocked last night during Match of the Day 2 when guest presenter Jason Mohammad introduced 2 Good 2 Bad. The thing with him though, is that there's very little improvised humour banter between him and the pundits, compared to regular presenter Mark Chapman.

Saw a report on the back of the Mail that Clattenberg (which my iPad's auto-correct already thinks is spelled Clattenberk ) is thinking of going abroad due to all the flak he cops over here.

Shall I start packing your suitcase, Mark? I'll even chip in for the cost of a plane ticket, you cock-eyed dingbat.

Ugh, Arsenal are self-destructing in the Champs League yet again. Sorry tob. It still sucks that they actually WON the freakin' group and still ended up getting Bayern bloody München.

Don't be sorry mate its exactly what i expected tonight Bayern are a different class and we have a team that lack everything but we just carry on repeating the same mistakes again so thanks Wenger for falling for the same mistakes again and thank you to the players who are not fit to wear the jersey.

I know Mark Clattenberg has his fans, but I'm one of those who can't stand him. Apparently, he's been trying to improve the standards of refereeing, which is a good idea. However, he comes across like a celebrity referee, where it revolves around him.

I think the video technology they've been using to determine if the ball has crossed the line (has that been just on Match of the Day, or on Sky Sports as well?) has helped.

The video technology has been the best thing that has come to football for years.

Mark's off to Saudi Arabia! Good. ****ing. Riddance.

Ocean: the goal-line tech isn't affiliated with any particular TV studio, it's been installed at every EPL ground and is operated live on matchdays "in house" by its own team of technicians.

Thanks for the explanation Geoff. It's just stuck in my mind the last few weeks, the goal line technology when I've seen it on Match of the Day and Match of the Day 2.
