Yikes! Supreme Court rules that discretionary "bonus loan" scheme was illegal avoidance of tax on payments to players in final appeal of HMRC Vs Rangers (1872-2012 : Club In Liquidation)

This should affect earlier ruling by football authorities that Rangers did not gain a sporting advantage from secretly paying players millions of pounds in untaxed "loans" that they would not otherwise have been able to employ (admitted under oath by the owner of the club at that time David Murray). This ruling was made on the basis that the scheme was legal, at a time when the appeal was still to be heard.

The Supreme Court is the final court of appeal. HMRC can now pursue the beneficiaries of similar schemes.

Interesting, will keep an eye on this.

Very happy to get him at last Steedeel i don't think he do any business but that could change with Sanchez and Ozil.
What do you think of your signings so far McGeady is a good player and i like to see him play more first team football to get called up for Ireland more often.

We haven't signed him yet Tob although we are strongly linked. We supposed to Have agreed a feee but it's taking a looong time. I think something has gone wrong.

I'd rather have gotten more scoring help in the wake of Lukaku's bolting us. And I didn't mean Rooney either. I think we might end up being pretty crappy next season. Well, it's not like we had any legit hopes of being a top 5 team next season anyway.

Pickford could be England no 1 so it could end up being a bargain. He is a great shot stopper and commands his box well. He just needs to learn to be more selectful with his big kick outs. In the current climate, considering his age that is a good deal.

Everton have moved to a different level in the transfer market now and the Rooney signing is a good example of that.
I think you will do well next season gvortex and you should be excited with the direction the club is going in the future.

Damn, half hour into this Asia trophy thingy game with Liverpool and Palace aren't playing too badly at all, they're keeping their shape well given the new formation and are attacking with purpose.

Yeah, so I've heard. I hope he is worth this fee and his new contract. I guess everyone can use solid young goal tending. I'll have to keep a closer eye on the team going forward, as we've made quite a few changes thus summer. The team is becoming almost unrecognizable amid all the recent player turnover.
