You can look at eBay for used ones that have sold, they are generally going between high $200s to low $300s and that includes shipping.

eBay also takes 10% off of that so your net after shipping and eBay fees is probably going to be around $250-$280 as stated.

Re-sell on UHD players are not so good from what I've seen, the 9000 sell for like under $600 no box no remote. With box UB820 maybe $250-$300 on ebay before fees, some prices include shipping so it seems higher. In real life sale I would do $250. I was gonna sell my boxed X700 but they literally go for like $80 not even worth it. I have a boxed Toshiba XA2 that I could sell for $300 easy.

And don’t forget the fees you mentioned are about 20% of the sale.

Same here, I've been wanting to upgrade my Panny 420 to a Dolby Vision player for the longest time and was hoping for the 820 to drop further, but now the price is going up! What the hell?

Seriously, screw it! I'll just pull the plug now at $450 and sell my 420 on eBay to get a little money back.

LOL. Didn’t you see the price of everything went up? Sometimes you snooze you lose.

Usually electronics go down in price. But I guess because of the decline in popularity of physical media, prices are going up instead of down.

Prices for UHD players got real low about a year ago, I think it won't go that low again, even if players start getting discontinued and no new models announced prices will go up as people try to buy out remaining stock. If you want Panasonic best time to lock in a unit now or soon. People try and compared UHD to vinyl but it's not even like that, you have easily 20+ different options buying a turntable, add in vintage units and it's limitless, for around $300-$500 you can get the best turntable you've ever owned probably better than your current speakers.

If you think $500 can get you the best turntable you ever own then you don’t know the first thing about turntable. The price range of turntable at $1000 ish is only starting to scratch the surface for an acceptable turntable. Usually at $2000 and above you start getting better turntable. The cheapest acceptable stylus is already around $500 the best ones will be in the rhouaands.

I sold my 820 for $280 last year on AVS classifieds. No fees.

$433.99 now at Amazon. Hmm, thinking about biting the bullet on this one, but really really wish it was $400

I'm speaking for the 95% of planet Earth who buys something and presses play, you clearly have elite tastes, I'm guessing your HDMI cables cost more than my speakers, but my parents and grandparents didn't spend more than a few hundred dollars on any turntable. So $500 would easily be the best I've ever heard and many, many other people as well. I stand by my statement as accurate.

Just be sure you are buying it from Amazon.com. It's the same price, but sometimes the seller that comes up in the first hit is not Amazon directly.

That's the only way to get the warranty.

Yes, Amazon is the seller. So should I buy it?

I wouldn't expect the player to go any lower until maybe the Christmas holiday shopping season, so if you cannot wait, then do it. Double check that it says Sold and Shipped by Amazon.

Your statement subjective. You might as well say that for most people $99 turntable is the best they’ve ever heard. Also “a few hundred dollars” at your grandparents age when they were young equals to more than $1500 today.
