The biggest issue that I have seen with the Panasonic 820 is when you connect it to a 4K projector it doesn't recognize it being connected to It. I tried changing from the 4:2:0 to the 4:2:2it keeps saying not connected to a TV ok well the player should automatically know that it's connected to a 4K projector. If I connect the Sony X800M2 it automatically knows that I'm connecting it toma 4K projector. Obviously the Panasonic 820 has problems when connecting to a 4K projector.

Is it a full fat 4K PJ? I aks because if the player is defaulting to 4:2:0 then it doesn't think there's enough bandwidth there in either the HDMI cabling or device(s) it's connected to. |

My Apple 4K tv streaming device uses 4:2:2 so I'm thinking about getting the Sony X800M2 because I never had any real problems with it like with the Panasonic 820 unit. The apple 4K tv device automatically knew what it is connected to. I'm not a very big fan of Panasonic like I used to be.

So far so good for this particular Panasonic unit. And I also have had zero issues with Atmos using my Vizio Elevate hooked up directly to the TV using Earc like I did with my Samsung 4K TV in the past.
I guess it's a Samsung issue. Because the Sony TV I have now is having no issues whatsoever decoding the signal properly. No annoying audio cut outs or anything. I tested it out with Blue Underground's 4K release of the underrated gem that is Dead and Buried and the film looked and sounded fantastic. So far, it has been absolutely worth buying the 820 again. |

I'd imagine it is, to get eARC and Atmos to work with some models you actually have to turn eARC off in the menu, the AVR then displays ARC, but you can return Atmos and HD audio through HDMI. Which makes very little sense!

The glossy plastic also retains dust like a sonofabitc@! I was happy with mine (until it turned out to be defective), but I agree the build quality is rather cheap given it's a $500 player. The remote is also rubbish as well and from the 2009 Panasonic parts box. I recommend upgrading to the UB9000 remote. To think the OPPO 203 only cost $50 more in 2016. |

Hello, so I buy this player but have the following issue, when I want to go to any options or settings, when pushing the botton on tje control to let's say, access the options, it goes to the options menu for one second and then automatically returns to the home menu, can't access to any option or settings because of this. Any advice on how to solve this? I already turned it off and on several times with no results. Maybe resetting the player? How do I reset it?
