What streaming apps are available on the Ub820? And are all picture setting options available for the apps, such as hdr optimizer?

As for apps, is youtube in 4k hdr? And is there the streaming site YouTube TV?

Netflix is in 4KHDR and 4K HDR/DV. I stopped watching Netflix in DV because the static HDR10 together with the HDR Optimizer for me does a far superior job. Finally no more too dark areas in the screen. The app gives a magnificient picture.

I’ve played around with the settings a little but I can’t really find anything.

You could try:

HOME>Setup>Player Settings>Sound>Downmix>Surround encoded

You might have to change the audio output to PCM, but the hissing sound might just be a deficiency of the tracks you're listening to.

Anyone find out what the 10% off was all about ? I plan on buying the 9000 and that would be a nice discount .

Value Electronics has the UB9000 for $999.
Can we apply the Sony 10% credit to the $999 purchase. Thus making the UB9000 cost appx $900.

On select TVs, e.g. most Sony models we offer a 10% store credit that can be applied to the Blu-ray player to lower your cost.

So basically if you buy your 75” Z9F for the msrp you get a credit for near 600 to apply to the UB9000. Sound close to being correct?

So basically you just posted that comment without any knowledge of what their pricing on Sony TV's is like. Sound close to being correct?

No, that’s why I used a question mark. I know what the pricing is as I looked on their site. What I wasn’t sure of is whether that particular model qualified for the 10% credit.

Can't wait to get this delivered. I have a week off next week, going to watch the whole lot: Braveheart, The Deer Hunter, Gladiator, Mission Impossible Collection, Saving Private Ryan, Transformers Collection

But if I had to pick one player over the other one the Panasonic 820 added that little extra detail and clarity, with less artifacts and less veil.

Watched it on my 75". The Panny has a little bit more color. But I believe this is with all settings at default. So the hdr optimizer and other settings are not a factor here.

That was fun trying to see the difference but I realize looking at a camera filming a TV and watching it on a monitor or even an iPhone really tells you nothing.
I watched it on my iPhone first and thought the CA had a tiny bit more contrast but when viewed on my iPad they were dead even.
In reality there should be very little difference unless one of the players is modifying the signal. The HDR Optimizer is such a modification but most here would probably say it’s a positive change.
