Title under username/Ranks

To the Moderator or whoever the "Power that be" is at Blu-ray.com: I notice that members are assigned different classifications, like me, for example, a "Junior member".

What are the names of the different classifications, and how, out of curiosity, does one rise from one to the next higher up, and on?

It is based on post count and not knowing when you change ranks and titles is part of the surprise, plus knowing these things just increases peoples post whoring in an effort just to raise their "rank"

Well "Expert Members" need to show proof of a 1500 SAT and at least a 35 ACT plus a PhD in something important regardless of if it is relevant to blu-ray(mine is in Contemporary Political Theory Applied to Modern Family Structures). A "Special Member" is somebody we feel bad for so we make them feel good by calling them special. A Blu-Ray Guru is somebody that the BDA goes to for advice. A "Moderator" or "Super Moderator" is somebody who can shut me down for being so ridiculous.

Really though, it's based on the number of posts.
After you get about 20, you are a member. You than have active member, power member, expert member, special member, etc.. (I don't remember them all or the order of them).
I have noticed some that are unique and I assume they were given by a moderator.

Just as long as no one takes Gold Member

Someday I hope to have enough people feel bad for me that I become a "special member."

I have to chime in (if nothing more than it's just one more post to the next level!) and say thank you for the information, and I agree, the join date is much more beneficial in determining seniority or knowledge on the matter. Still, the cool, rare names are kinda snazzy...

I never paid much attention to the titles until I saw this thread.

Apparently, I'm not 'special' anymore. I'm now 'senior'.

I guess this means I can get off one short bus just to get back on another short bus. Wonderful.
