Small, however a great mix. May I suggest some French films? MR73, Mesrine, Les Lynoios. Will need some organization when it gets larger also. 9.5/10

Woah, with so many Blu-rays I don't even have to look to know it's a 10/10.

Got a couple more Blu-rays so I'm back in here.

What?! Really? I have Ran but I've watched several Kurosawa films as a teenager but hardly remember most of them so I plan on getting a few Kurosawa films during the next Criterion sale.

I stand corrected. There it is, Ran. 2.1/10

I would like my collection to be re-evaluated by someone else if possible.

How about doing a self rating and explain why you give yourself the score you did? 71 blus and a fairly narrow scope of predominantly action flicks probably won't get you high praise in this forum, but heck maybe that's only me.

I've gotten some really good ratings from others before as this isn't my first time in this topic. I think I have a rock solid Blu-ray collection personally but what I feel I'm really missing are a bunch of Criterion films that I may catch up on during the next sale. Currently I have 25 Criterion films on my wish list. I don't feel one has to own a bunch of movies in order to have a solid film collection. I think quality is more important than quantity. Sure next to your nearly 2,000 Blu-rays my collection may seem meaningless but I don't intend my collection to get too out of hand. I don't expect my collection to surpass 150 Blu-ray films or maybe 200 films.

I think you're taking it all a little too hard. One guy's opinion, that's all.

If it's what you want, then it's what you got.

That's why I'm asking for a re-evaluation. It's not that big of deal but you by far have the largest Blu-ray collection that I've seen in these forums so you giving me a 2/10 seems really snobby and elitist. I will continue adding movies to my collection but I will keep my collection controlled through what I buy and what I keep. I will always try to keep it under 200 movies.

Yeah, that dude's comments were reeking of condescension.

I'd give you an 8/10. A nice, tight collection of classic action films, crowd-pleasers, and thoughtful dramas.

Snobby and elitist? Aw shucks, that really hurts. I guess I'll just have to find a way to soldier on but it ain't gonna be easy.....

But it looks like you got a little love thrown at ya, so it's gonna be a good day for you after all.

My rule of thumb is to start from a 5/10 which is an F rating and go up from there based on the person's collection. I don't think anyone's collection deserves a 2/10 because based on that rating you must feel that someone needs to have an exuberant amount of Blu-rays to even feel that they are worthy of a high rating. I understand everyone has their criteria of rating but those are just my thoughts. I think the 8/10 rating for my collection is really generous and I have gotten that before when my collection was slightly less but I think my collection right now is a 6/10. Say I add 15-25 Criterion films and maybe a bunch of other more mainstream releases I think my collection will be in the 9 range but that's just my opinion. I will always have a controlled collection. Everyone has their idea of what they like and what makes a good film collection so you can be entitled to your opinion but still it's a bit harsh. Anyway, still a 10/10 for you.
