Kakashi Sensai,

Solid. 10/10

*Has Wayne's World held up, or is it really dated. Love SNL in the early 90's and Wayne's World too, but so long ago, it is almost a blind buy now. And I find stuff I thought was funny years ago isn't funny now.

I could give you a 10/10 just for your concerts alone. Love 'em. 10/10 for the whole thing though. Top notch collection with plenty of diversity.

7/10. We have sorta the same taste but your collection is small and lacks variance. A bit kiddy. You are starting off well though.

Thanks.
I'd get more mature films if my parents would let me . Just look at my wishlist.

9.5/10 for your collection - you have a lot of great stuff in there!

Dragon Lee,

Quanity: 8/10

Quality: 8/10 - OK variety, but its obvious your still building your collection and are working on the movies you really liked first

Overall: 8/10 - Collection looks good in the early going

Very nice! 10/10 You have more Star Trek than I do, I've been meaning to get the first couple seasons.

I give you an 9/10. The greatest asset of your collection is its size, obviously. However, with a large selection you have many titles I consider "throw aways." Of course, while I consider them that you obviously like them enough to buy and that's all that matters. I like the diversity of your collection and think you have a decent but not great number of foreign films. I think you lack in classics and with such a large collection, not having Criterions is astonishing!

A couple years ago I would have used my age as an excuse for not having some classics, lol. I never understood the whole Criterion craze, some of the titles that you consider throw aways I might too but just cant see selling them to someone else for a few $$, so I just end up keeping them. I would love to have more foreign titles but dislike having to import BDs. More titles like The Warlords and Red Cliff need to be released here.

Thanks

im giving you the full boat 10/10

I agree with the Criterion titles as there are many that are over rated or just plain dont have replay value

To jihiggy: I like that you don't have Godfather 3 and that it is not even on your wishlist. You have a solid start to your collection. It's good to see that you have the Third Man Blu in your collection before you pay an arm and a leg for it later. The My cousin Vinny BD seems a little out of place in your collection as a whole...although it's not a bad movie by any means.

It's all good, all that matters is you liking your collection and I must say, it's envious. I understand the import thing, but if you notice I only have one import (Downfall). There are many great domestic, Non-Criterion, foreign releases, such as Sophie Scholl, The Orphanage, and The Lives of Others. Red Cliff is domestic btw, idk if you knew that. It's the full length, 4 hour version and I got it on Amazon.

Thank you for looking and commenting. I despise Godfather III, like I do for Alien 3. I just think they're unnecessary and drag the series down as a whole. My wishlist is more indicative of my taste than what I own! (The Lives of Others is arguably my favorite film). My sig, which has my top unreleased blus is even more indicative of my taste haha

I got The Third Man during the Criterion sale last November for $14. I reserved it for three weeks, because the manager was a nice guy. It's still sealed! Love the film though, so I'd never sell it.

I'm surprised you think My Cousin Vinny is out of place--I would've thought you'd say The Transporter (it has a special place for me bc my grandfather and I watch martial arts/action films together and we like this one). My Cousin Vinny is considered a comedy classic and come on, it even won an Oscar (Tomei, deservedly so). It's actually my favorite pure comedy, followed by National Lampoon's Vacation and Playtime.

Sorry to derail the thread
