Just go to your collection and near the top click "Manage Categories". There's a menu to make custom categories there.

Pretty good. 8/10. A little too much TV for my taste and you could use more film from the 70s, 60s, 50s, 40s, 30s, and 20s, but you have some great titles.

I find it funny that you suggested the poster above you to get more films from the 1970's to the 1920's. You certainly do have a lot from those decades, and some really good titles as well.

But when it comes to modern films, you lack greatly. Only 4% of your collection is dated 2010 or above. And only 14% dated 2000 and above.

I think it's perhaps you prefer those older classic films, just like the poster above you prefers more modern films.

I find it funny that we suggest other collectors to get more movies in different genres, when it's obvious they don't care for that genre. EXAMPLE: I HATE Westerns and Old War Films. They're just not my cup of tea, so when people suggest I get more of them, I just laugh, I'm not about to buy movies I don't like just because someone someone thinks I should have some.

Each of our collections reflect our unique tastes and preferences. I keep getting told I have too many mainstream films and not enough foreign or independent films. That's cool, I'm OK with that.

I'm the one who has to watch my collection and spend money on the films.

But then again, I AM putting myself out there when I post in this thread and ASK people to rate me.....so I take in the suggestions I LIKE and spit out the ones I don't. LOL.

Personally, I would like to see more modern films in your collection, and more MUSICALS.

So I'll rate yours a 7/10 according to MY taste.

Well, of course that's why we post here. Because I generally only find 2 or 3 modern films per year I'd like to own, I probably sound like a cranky old man, but that's the fun of this thread, right?

You have a lot of nice films in your collection. I am kind of shocked to not see a single film from The Criterion Collection. That blew me away. It was also missing quite a few films that I would deem essential. That's why I'm giving you a 5/10.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of old movies, I certainly like some but not that many. I'll give you a solid 9/10, we have over 100 titles in common. You don't have enough comedies for my taste but I'm not suggesting to buy more it's just me. (We do rate according to our taste, right?)

With this large of a collection there are bound to be some fillers but overall very nice! 9/10

Your collection is off to a great start; I have many of the same titles. I like that you made a category for your wife's movies as well as concerts. Personally, I would like to see more of the classics and more foreign titles, but that is just my preference. I would give a rating of 7/10; your collection has a lot of promise.

I need to categorize my collection, but it seems a daunting task. I also like it when people offer their recommendations. I have learned a lot from just listening to other people.

I'm not a huge fan of most titles under the Criterion name, nor am I a huge fan of the Criterion prices....but I DO have TWO Criterion titles which you may have overlooked: Tootsie and The Blob. I just don't categorize them by themselves like most people I see here.

How can I say anything negative about a collection that has over 2,000 titles except MANY of your titles I remember seeing advertised at the old vintage Drive-Inn theaters. You have some classic drive-in Grade B movies. Back then, we really didn't care about movie quality or acting performances, did we? We just wanted ACTION and BOOBIES! LOL. Wow.

I just noticed you have a few titles from Severin Films.....but with your taste in Drive in Classics and Severin Films.....WHERE IS AXE & KIDNAPPED COED???? How can you have so many drive in classics and NOT have AXE????? WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU????????

I give you a 7/10. I had to subtract points for not having AXE and I subtracted another one for having TIME BANDITS. I HATED that movie. sorry.

But I have to subtract 2 points for not having all your movies in proper categories. You started off real well, then it all falls apart at the OWNED category. I hope this is just a work in progress, if so, I'll up my rating.
