Where'd you find the Mi4K Lawrence for that price?!

Oh, my bad. It was 26 EUR and change on cdjapan.

I have just fixed the typo.

Do you have it?

No, that's why I'm asking. For 16 EUR delivered I'd have snapped that up, but for 26 EUR I can wait.

Technically, he's not far off, as the M4K BD set is just over £9 before shipping to the UK anyway. Even with shipping it's currently less than £20.

Hard to get much cheaper than that for Japanese product.

Yikes, £20 is still too much. I got the remastered Groundhog Day for £12, I'd gladly buy Lawrence Mi4K for that, but for £20 I might as well wait until the actual UHD version is available.

I would like the opinion of a videophile, who has seen both.
I have both. Now it has been a while since I watched the US release but I don't recall compression being an issue. Having viewed disc one of the Mi4K disc last night, I can say with confidence that it is reference quality. In motion, differences between the two releases are likely to be virtually indistinguishable.

For BOTH. LOA Mi4k was 14.51 EUR shipped= 1857 YEN.

I am not nearly as impressed with LOA on BD as with Cleopatra and Spartacus, so I hope they Mi4k is more filmic and doesn't have the macroblocking and light banding the US editions have.

Mr McC said it was "under £20" for Lawrence, I assumed it was nearer the £20 mark. Obviously not.

I was using the Amazon Japan pricing. I don't use CDJapan, so perhaps their shipping to the UK is cheaper. The item price is virtually identical on both sites.

Ah, well, you didn't say that. The Mi4K Lawrence is going for a pretty sweet price then as shipping only appears to be a couple of quid more (to the UK, anyway) from cdjapan. The Mi4K Jerry Maguire is also the same price, hmmm.

I've got the regular disc, but will wait for the inevitable UHD BD of Lawrence.

The CD Japan listing for the 4K box set shows this movie as "Lawrence and the Arabs".

It will most likely be years before I upgrade, if ever (online registration nonsense etc.), so I figured, why not now? This film deserves the very best treatment on BD.

They're overly vibrant, almost to the point of absurdity? The movie sometimes looks like it's been colorized.

As it should be. There was no habit of making movies dull and dreary around yet.

There is nothing indicating online register will be required right now. They know this will kill the format fast.
