I thought the CD was actually a bluray audio disc... as it's indicated on Amazon.fr - or is that wrong?

Sorry if this has already been asked but does anyone know if the UK version of a few months earlier will be the same transfer?

no the question is, what extras if any will appear on the cheaper UK version - I seriously doubt the transfer would differ in any way.

Not likely. The materials don't exist to do a complete soundtrack. That's why you have things like the Tadlow Rerecording that was done a couple of years ago (this complete recording is actually being re-released by Silva Screen Records in one week).

I hope so!

I have both the US collectors edition and the UK single-disc edition pre-ordered. Honestly since I am running out of space for these larger box sets I am hoping the UK single-disc edition has the transfer and special features we are all expecting. However if it does not I will keep my US collectors edition box set.

I also have the French disc on order cause supposedly it has a 70mm frame - but no one has confirmed if that's in fact true.

The Digital Bits just listed this about the U.S. Limited Edition boxed set: "The box set will also include an authentic 70mm film frame (newly printed and numbered) and a 88-page hard-bound coffee table book that features rarely seen photos, the film's history and significance, and insight into the making of the film."

Amazon UK still doesn't list any info on the # of discs in the listing details, but another UK online retailer, play.com (which doesn't ship to the US), lists it as 2 discs, with the same artwork as Amazon. I have it ordered from Amazon UK as I'm pretty sure it's going to have the 2nd disc of extra features, which is not exclusive to the boxset.

I went for the Collector's Edition. Normally im not a fan of big box packages due to lack of shelf space, but this is Lawrence of Arabia. Ive been a big fan since I saw it for the first time 3 years ago, and Ive been anticipating its bluray release since. Its just one of those movies that i have no problem spending the extra cash on. Plus im really fond of the art on the box.

I'll have some anxiety over this untill amazon has 2 blu-ray listings, but yes, I'm pretty sure the CE is the one available for pre-order and the 2-disc has not made its appearence yet. Check out the artwork on today's Digitalbits.

Amazon updated their picture and details. Looks like the movie is on 1 disc and it does come with the soundtrack!

With this new information I think I'll keep my US collectors edition pre-order and cancel the UK single disc edition. I just hope this fits on my shelf as it is taller than my other usual shaped box sets.

Thank the lord they didn't pull a WB and include the extras on DVD's. This set looks great!
