I got mine today from Amazon. It too had some damage. They did not have any to replace it with, so they refunded me $14.99.

Looking a my set, mine also has a small tear (though I really had to look to see it) and mine also didn't have an UV code. My set though is in pretty great condition, so i'm surprised by how many sets seem to be damaged...

how did you contact them? I just ordered a replacement through the "orders" page and clicked the option where it said the item was damaged

I used the chat thing. They did not have any replacements earlier today when the rep and I were talking. They could only offer a refund for the price I paid which he suggested I buy a used copy from a 3rd party seller.

I'm starting to wonder if I'm even going to get mine. I was contacted a day or two after I ordered saying the estimated delivery date would be Thursday, which is tomorrow, and it still hasn't even shipped. I'm gonna be pretty upset if I don't get it, I've waited a long time for this to be affordable.

I purchased this set Day 1, and all the recent activity on this thread has made me realize that I never got around to redeeming my Digital Copy code. It was supposed to expire on 11/13/14.

I just tried to redeem it minutes ago, and it went through anyway with no problem! Didn't even have to contact customer support or anything.

Can't wait to watch this glorious big-screen epic...on my phone!

On the LoA page it says Amazon will get them restocked on February 13th..maybe thats why. As of right now, i think they really are out of stock.

I think u have to wait till the 13th for it to be shipped too.
My replacement copy wont ship till that day too.

Haha. I never end up usingmy codes. I can never get myself to watch a movie in my phone. How does one even do that?

A friend of mine ordered this and his copy has shipped and is supposed to be there tomorrow, so I don't know what the deal is with mine. I'd just appreciate if Amazon would give me a heads up as to what's going on. If they weren't going to have it on time to get it to me today as promised, they needed to have at least given me a notification about another delay.

Edit: And as usual, my *****ing and whining brings results. Just got the e-mail. Now I'm expected to get it on the 17th. At least they finally told me something.

They just notified me that my replacement copy was shipped too. Getting it on the 17th just as you

EDIT: Looks like i got mines early. Its the 12th and seems like its here. And this box looks MINT. Even the box in came inside had plastic air bags inside....idk wtf went wrong last time. It looked like the box went through war.
And the movoe box itself has no wear or tear. It looks very very new...unlike the last one -_-

Amazon doesn't really make money selling physical products. All of their profits are in shipping, memberships, server services and the download/streaming services.

I got mine today by FedEx. My copy came with the UV code, which I had no problem redeeming on Vudu. The slipcover had a few cracks on one side, and one corner of the inner box that holds everything was a bit torn. Hate to say it, but I used tape to put it all back together. Everything else is in fine shape, and my slipcover fared a lot better than my friend's, which he told me had a lot of cracks in it.

Frankly, this set would be worth $60, everything is such great quality. But I'm glad I splurged and pounced when it was $30. (Well technically, it cost me $40 - I bought my friend a $10 gift card to convince him to order it as well.) Especially since it seems like this set may officially be OOP and Amazon was just selling off Sony's remaining stock. I'm perfectly fine with taking advantage of their opportunity. I can't wait to dive into the discs and watch the movie again. I think I've only seen it a couple of times, and those were on VHS - never even owned or watched a DVD version, so this'll be a massive upgrade.

One of the best bargains I've ever come across, but it makes me think that Sony over printed and it (The Collectors Edition) wasn't as big a seller as Sony hoped for.

Well to be honest, its normal price of $90+ probably kept people away from it when it was first released. The edition comes with great stuff but all of it isn't worth that normal price point and would only sell to people who don't care about the price.

$60 is a reasonable price while $30 was an absolute steal.

Got a great film frame though, Lawrence and Brighton on Camels.

The 2-disc set is currently on sale for $9.99 at my local Best But. I was hoping for a sale on the steelbook but then I realized it only contains one BD. So to summarize: the box set has 3 BDs + a soundtrack CD, the regular release 2 BDs, and the steelbook only 1 BD. What will I miss from the box set if I go with the 2-disc option? It appears the standard edition still has a good amount of extras.
