Which happens with about the same frequency as 90 degree days in Alaska which is why, "I think" vs "I know".

As for purchasing from Amazon UK, their exchange rate is slightly higher than the official one...something I know for sure... So if you have a card like Capital One that uses the official exchange rate without a surcharge, don't have your order shipped in dollars at check out. It will save you a couple of bucks.

Actually you said "You get the price on release date which usually drops the prior week". That's not an "I think" sentence, that's written as if it's a fact and is what I was correcting.

Good stuff. Yeah, Amazon Currency Conversion - which charges you in the currency of your card so you don't get a foreign transaction charge - is almost always higher than the worst cards. And some cards are really bad on that. I use my PayPal debit card which charges a 1% foreign transaction fee, but uses the real exchange rate and I get 1% cash back, so it's a wash.

I think a lot of CC's wave the foreign exchange fee now, and even if yours didn't it's usually around 3% or less which still works out better than Amazon's built-in currency converter price most if not all times. I personally have a Capital One card I use for all my foreign purchases as they definitely don't have any fees on any of their cards

Uh, the next sentence.

I don't think it locks in in the event it goes higher.

And it goes along with your, "I think a lot of CC's wave the foreign exchange fee now". Being that I put up an article on it and it only listed a handful of cards that do, you might be incorrect in that thinking. Might be. http://www.creditcards.com/credit-ca...ng-up-1267.php

Here's a thought: doesn't anyone here think Sony and the Lawrence team would know better than any of us if LOA should be on 1 or 2 discs?

I really don't see why there's any concern over this. It's going to be great

Slightly OT, but did anyone notice the apparent bug onthe amazon.co uk listing for the LoA BD: 95 reviews on a product that has nor been released yet? And in the amazon.co.uk review section the headings "On the DVD" and "DVD Description" are obviously incorrect. Am I the only one that things that amazon (all sites) shold separate DVD an Blu-ray reviews asp for BD releases that have been restored since their dvd release.

Back on topic: I cant wait for the release , I absolutely love this movie. Let's just hope there are no issues with this release as it has been with the recent release of Star-trek the next generation season 1

People were complaining when LOTR was split on two discs and now that they're releasing LoA on one disc, people are once again complaining.

That's the net for you! If it looks good on just one disc I'm more than happy. A film to watch in the winter in the UK, with the heating turned right up, all lights out & some ice cream

Waiting for the cinema release in October is going to be brutal. Such an amazing movie...and so very complex to boot.

I don't think anyone was complaining.
I think everyone has been in agreement that, whatever the disc choice, they would trust in the restoration team's decision.

Yeah. Because it's the same people complaining on both sides, right? Or, could it be, that the people who were complaining about LOTR being on 2 discs are not the same people complaining about Lawrence of Arabia being on one disc?

On a related note, I wish that they would get these rumored quad-layer Blu-Rays to market and make this all a moot point. At least. I hope it will be a moot point by then.

I think everyone waiting for this title who has not purchased David Lean's A Passage to India should do so. Highly underrated IMO and a very good release full of extras.

Not exactly Lawrence of Arabia, but some very good work nonetheless and something to tide you over for awhile.

This showed up in my Gold Box today, $63.83! Hopefully it goes down a bit more before release day. Shouldn't be more than $49.99 in my opinion.

It's a shame that that disc 3 is gift set exclusive, because I'd love to see the Deleted scene and the Scorsese, Friedkin and Spielberg stuff. Even so that means that Disc 2 isn't exclusive and so an edition that isn't big box and actually has special features will be released. That makes me very happy.

Anxious to watch this, as I've never seen it.

It's been on my radar for a long while.

I am assuming that the CD is the complete soundtrack? That is the way I understand it after reading the specs. That would be sweet.
