I'm not sure I follow the logic on this.

edit- After reading up on it, I now follow the logic. I've never been to one, didn't even know about them until about a month ago.

I ordered the UK version since it is way cheaper. It says two discs. Is it a BD and DVD or is the movie split between two BD discs?

True, they are extremes of eachother, but regardless of the incident, that sort of "management overriding common sense/good judgement and or hard data" thing happens all the time. Hell, companies will factor in lawsuit costs when making something rather than do it right if the lawsuit route is cheaper. Sick.

Is everything on the UK NTSC based? It doesn't have PAL SD extras does it? As long as the extras will play on my PS3, I will get it, and for that low price, I'll get the Universal Monsters set from the UK too.

As awesome as the box set looks, I don't really feel like finding a place to keep it. That two disc is calling my name.

Well I'm on record, and I'll say it again, I'm happier than a pig in shit that this is on one disc. Yeah, yeah, compression will hurt the picture, blah blah blah. I don't really care because I wouldn't be able to notice it if you put a gun to my mother's head and MADE me notice it or you'll pull the trigger. Sorry mom, but you'd be dead.

That just proves that you don't care about picture quality and you don't care about your mother.

I care about my mother, the point is that I just can't pretend to see what I don't see.

As far as PQ, I would say no, I don't care as much as most of the people here. For me, good enough is good enough. I have no desire to nit pick.

Why bother with Blu-ray then, just go back to DVD. It will be good enough for you.

How about no. I can see the difference between DVD and Blu-Ray. But that doesn't mean I have to nit pick. How about you people stop being so pissed off at me for not caring as much as you do.

Aren't you the guy that wants academy ratio films cropped so that they fill your HDTV screen?

Does the fact that Robert Harris himself has said that the new blu-ray is reference quality in both audio and video mean nothing to you clods who still want to ***** and whine about the movie not being split? I mean seriously, does his opinion mean nothing or do you simply think you know better.

Lets also not forget that Gone With the Wind looks and sounds incredible on one disc and its even longer than Lawrence Of Arabia.
This release will be perfect, I assure you.

I see the single disc edition is now available for pre-order for only $18.99. Coming in at $50 less than the Collectors Edition it is tempting.

Yeah, I'm definitely going for the 2 disc release. The box set looks gorgeous, but I have neither the space nor the budget to justify buying it. I'll miss the additional extras for about two minutes, before enveloping myself in the film.
