US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain & Japan will be getting this very same edition.

Which begs the question... How could possibly this be a Limited 'Collector's Edition'.

Do we think that because many major retailers will be getting this it might be worth waiting to get it cheaper later, like $40 or under?

Or will it be like the Amazon exclusive Titanic that sold out right away and is very expensive now?

Will the US release of the 2 disc Lawrence of Arabia come with a sleeve like the UK version? Are the US and UK versions exactly the same? I got the UK version since it came out earlier but kept it sealed in case I decided on the US version instead. The UK version came with a slip, but I didn't see that with the US version and I didn't know if the transfer or extras were any different.

Well, first of all, to my knowledge, it's not an Amazon exclusive so right away you'll have that many more purchasing options. As for how fast this will sell, while I have not heard about the set being numbered....I thought it was mentioned that there will only be a finite amount of film cells to go around for this set. Take that however you will...but me, I've got this beauty preordered via Amazon!
I've waited long enough!

Any thought on whether the $65 price point is going to be the cheapest it will be the first week, or do we think some other store might sell it even cheaper?

I would say wait for Black Friday... for now the set is quite overpriced considering its contents. It might drop under $60 by release date.

At the moment, it appears that the run of Lawrence boxed set Blu-rays, may actually be limited, as opposed to the norm, of producing a "limited edition" until the public ceases to purchase it. In this case, much like our My Fair Lady boxed sets, which included a strip of 70mm film, the 70mm Lawrence frames, which come from a new digital 65mm negative, have been cut, approved -- there are some very special frames, and all good ones, and like snow-flakes, no two alike -- and there may be no more.
Is a 70mm frame shipped with all the collector's box sets to date, or is it exclusive to UK? I have a pre-order on Amazon, and their product description doesn't mention it.

Wondering if anyone here preordered this from either deepdiscount, buy.com, or overstock.com? Their prices are a little cheaper but have seen some bad reviews for those sites.

So from the picture it looks as if the standard case for the film is packaged in the giant box of goodies? That's excellent.

Truly. I have no idea why they would choose that image, same on the UK release.

By the way, are there any details on what the soundtrack CD in the box will be? Some kind of variation on the 1990 Varese Sarabande disc?

What interests me most is if the standard Blu-ray case that fits on a shelf is in the box set. It seems like it is from the picture. I'd want to not have the film in some weird paper slip separate from my other movies.

This is a great film, but I'm hesitant to pay $40 extra than the standard version for a soundtrack, book, and film cell, cool though they are.

Don't forget the extra disc of special features, including the balcony scene and Scorcesse's appreciation.
