I have a few laserdisc sets that have those kind of tears on the packaging and I couldn't see them until I had opened the set. It almost seems like it happens more with becoming very dry and so the paper rips.

Yea, i've seen it it with other stuff too. And was probably like that before they even sent it out to me. Exchanging it would, I think, take to much time and gas money to do.

can you post a photo of the slipcover? Thanks!

I love the look of the Collector's set! May have to pick it up if there is a Black Friday sale on it (if there are any left then).

If I were in your shoes, I would return it for an exchange without a moment's hesitation. It's one thing if we were talking about a slipcover, but given the price of the item and the nature of the damages incurred, this is one instance where an exchange would be warranted.

Maybe I will, i ordered it from walmart, I think I have 90 days, just a matter of getting to a walmart, none very close, and hoping they have one in store.

This is by far the best-looking set in my collection. I didn't realize it was so big! Gonna be tough to display but dammit is this thing cool or what?

There hasn't been any sort of confirmation that there's going to be a Black Friday deal on this, correct??

I'm a jackass. I could have sworn there was a replica poster inside as well. I was looking all over for it, till I read the back of the box. Would have been sweet to have that face poster like the big book has.

I wonder what's the magic number of film cells? Mine was 33-thousand something. I wonder who was lucky enough to get the desert mirage cell?

Someone on another forum said they got #40,000 and something.

I # is in reference to which frame # that the person has. Robert Harris noted on Home Theater Forum on his thread for the film that they picked good frames to include in the set, meaning there should be no BAD film frames given out in the sets. He didn't comment on the limited # of sets being made but noted he believed they wouldn't create more box sets, that people should purchase one currently if they really want one. It would be limited.

Here is my frame

Just got mine in the mail today, the big edition. Looks pretty good, but is a bit bigger than I imagined. I think I got a pretty good frame though,

So Deepdiscountdisappoinment.com messed my order and they say: get ready ok? "Sir, my supervisor says your order is being cancelled because the shipping address you provided us shows in the system as fraudulent" LO-LO-LOL, LO-LOL... LO LOL, a simple PO box address that Ive been using with amazon for over a decade....
so, Amanzon it is, I am happy anyway, there are only 2 movies where I spend whatever it takes, Blade Runner and Mr. Lawrence,
if I can get as a film cell, the scene where Lawrence spots Sherif Ali for the first time in the desert.... multiple ...

I don't even think the girl from deepdiscount called me "Sir"
