I think everyone's photos are making me start to second-guess my decision to opt for the standard release over the CE...

Is it just me or is there a audio sync issue with this film?

I think it's more of a dubbing issue.

So um, silly question and it might have already been answered but I don't feel like scanning through 60+ pages...

The individual film frame is pretty cool, but what's it from? Obviously not from the original reel. Is it authentic or just reproduced???

Why not? There were multiple original copies made for Theatrical venues throughout the world. We're talking many, many frames in just one of the reels.

I am glad for everyone who has the UCE and loves it, but I am still happy with having the two disc version. A great movie indeed, but not one of my all time faves that I feel the need to dish out more bucks.

I just got home from a conference and the amazon box was waiting for me. I thought it was a different delivery at first because the box looked too narrow... but I used to collect laserdisc box sets, so I guess the size is not that alarming for me!

It's killing me, but I'm going to wait for my wife to get home to take the shrink wrap off. So the box is propped up next to the tv, staring me in the face! She got it as an early holiday gift for me though, so I should give her the courtesy.

But I'm dying to know what film cell I got!

Well, yes it does come close to Ben Hur's PQ, since both films were 65mm and shot within a few years of each other. They looks pretty identical, but I'm more impressed with Lawrence, if only for the more epic scope and grandeur.

I would put it this way, on a huge screen Lawrence may have a slight edge. But on 42-46 inch screen you notice some small anomalies like haloing and IMO it doesn't equal the pristine beauty, color or clarity of the restored and remastered Ben Hur. But regardless, both are stunning.
