I really can't wait to catch these
Has anyone seen this 70 mm print at the Cinerama Seattle? How is the print?
Is it a new 70 mm print (unlikely) or an old one?

If it is a "good" print, I'd be interested in hearing comparisons to how Lawrence looks in people's Home Theaters.

I'm gonna guess it's probably from the 1987 restoration cause I know they struck new 70mm prints for that, either way it should look incredible. I've seen 70mm prints of other films from the 70's (possibly earlier) and they still looked really great.
So far Lawrence has only had one screening there (they're doing it once a week along with various other films that are also screening on 70mm)
I'm not going until next thursday myself, but I can post on here after I do.
What I do know is that seeing it on that gargantuan screen is going to be amazing!

I'm a little bit south of Seattle, but would love to see this on the big screen. This is just a beautifully shot movie to me.

Yes, but shipping is a bit steep ($11 to New England). Another thread mentioned getting Best Buy to PM Fry's (for a different BD). Had I not already ordered it from Fry's, I would go the BB route. [Frys.com is a listed site; LOA has the Low Price Guarantee.] The sales tax will be less than Fry's shipping charge.

I picked up my copy in the store the last time it went on sale. I told the manager I was shocked they were able to sell it that low. It's a really nice set for that price, although it is rather large because of the book, and I had to sift through all the copies they had to find one that didn't have bends or cracks in the clear outer sleeve.

I keep debating if I should buy the set and sell/trade/throw away everything other than the keepcase that has the BDs and CD.

Mine is from the same scene, just a little more zoomed on O'Toole's face.
Without a doubt this is the best BD I own, pound for pound!

I saw "Lawrence of Arabia" for the first time last year at the Samuel Goldwyn theater in Beverly Hills where the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences held the US premiere of the new digital restoration for the 50th anniversary. After seeing his performance, around the same time, I was, also, able to catch a viewing on television of "The Lion in Winter" and was taken by surprise by Mr. O'Toole's acting prowess. I hope this film, also, makes it to the bluray format very soon. For certain I plan to look into more of his performances, for this would be the highest tribute to his life and talent.

Rest in peace Mr. O'Toole and my condolences to his family.

To my eyes, O'Toole as T.E. Lawrence is the greatest performance in cinema's history.

RIP

R.I.P. Peter O'Toole and thank you. I have a feeling Lawrence of Arabia will be getting a lot of play time all over the world within the next few days.
