Question ... I read a couple reviews that say the edit on the blu is botched and has many jump cuts that did not exist in the original edit ... Is this bs ?

I'm a big fan of a smaller movie he made called "Creator" with Muriel Hemmingway, Vincent Spano and the incredible Virginia Madsen.

It's free on Amazon if you're a prime member buy I'm very happy I own the DVD.

R.I.P Mr. O'Toole

One of the Greatest and most watchable Actors to ever grace the medium...

"Lawrence of Arabia", "The Lion in Winter", "My Favorite Year" and "The Stunt Man"?

Pure Greatness... You will be missed.

There's occasional moments with missing frames where restored footage was added back in, but it's not that bad. The new restoration makes the joins much more seamless than before, especially in the scene with Feisal and Bentley after the intermission.

They opted to leave the missing frames alone rather than digitally replace anything, which is fine.

Just did a blind buy of the limited edition

Felt I should just dive in considering all the rave reviews... Plus Prometheus is one of my favorite movies so that helped the decision as well...

Because the android in Prometheus liked LOA... modeled his behaviors after Peter O'Toole, etc... I'm guessing...

Okay, thanks. I only got to watch Prometheus once - and once was obviously not enough.

You are correct sir. In fact the book that comes with the LoA limited set talks about Prometheus in the opening pages

Funny you missed that scene in Prometheus. It's brilliant.
