Just ordered this from Amazon for $9.99 (the 2 BD version).

I wish there was a way to get that 3rd BD offered in the Collector's Boxed Set Edition without paying the big bucks for this boxed set.

Maybe one day they will sell a 3 BD set of Lawrence of Arabia (without the boxed set).

I can appreciate people liking the 88 page book and music soundtrack CD and box that comes with the Collector's Edition, but they are things I do not really want. (Love the cover art on the box that comes with the Collector's Edition. Wish they had used that as the cover art for the actual BD cover of the movie.)

EDIT: I received this from Amazon without a slipcover (but I'm OK with that).

i noticed the "slipback" photo for this set here shows different disc art than on amazon (it's not numbered, just different colors and has no text indicating which disc is which); i also have the two disc set, which matches the numbered discs. since everything else about the set looks the same, does anyone know if the slipback photo is just preliminary art, or similar, and the amazon photo is the final? unboxing videos seem to indicate as such, but i didn't know if they maybe revised it somewhere along the line, as wb did with the ten commandments set, etc. nice to see a quad case housing it all, though no slip as with the standalone 2-disc. thanks!

Its funny but that whole thing in Prometheus made me buy Lawrence of Arabia straight away - perhaps this was part of Ridley's plan?! Id see LoA before but just never got round to buying it. I was glad when I did of course - superb film.

I really like Prometheus too and don't analyse it for faults too much. Unlike some .

Is the 3rd disc worth the price of the Collectors Edition?

The LoA CE is one of the best, if not the best CE I've ever seen...in terms of content, bonus features and packaging. Very fitting for one of the best films ever created.
All in my opinion, of course.

Anything with Charlize Theron is amazing. Even this video:

BTW, have you seen Monster? Incredible film. Anthony Hopkins is wrong. THAT was the best acting of all time.

That's really up to you. I didn't think so but some folks eat it up.

This is in my top 10 films, so I went for the CE, as I also did for BEN HUR.

Price tracker doesn't show it has ever dipped below $45. Where was it $30?? Anyone think it could get much lower? (an impossible question I know).

I have the 2 disc but am thinking of upgrading and selling the 2 disc for whatever I can get!

It was on sale at Frys twice last year for under $30.

Ah, wow. Cool. I've never shopped with them, not even on my radar. Anyone know how much the shipping was? Are they like Amazon and free shipping $25 and up?

Wish I would have been checking - for $30 that is great!

Still haven't found a good stand for this in my bookcase, anyone got a suggestion?

I guess a miniature easel would be good, but haven't found one of those yet

Since I really don't know the size you're dealing with, this may be useless, but ... I got the 8 inch, but it goes up to 16. Good luck.

I bought this and watched it today. Had never seen it before. Can not believe how damn beautiful the transfer is. Seriously, I had to keep pausing some of the shots like when he gets of his camel at the beach the water and light on the water was stunning, the wind blowing the sands over the desert, the sunsets/rises and MAN, the cinematography alone was perfect. Was shocked to learn O'tool didn't get the Oscar but when I googled it I can understand Peck's Atticus Finch winning. Anyways, has to be in my top 20 films of all time and in my top 5 of best BD transfers EVER!!!!

I got the regular edition, but this Collector's Set with coffee table book and extra discs look tempting.

Are the bonus features on the 3rd disc really worth getting, or is the regular 2 disc edition more than enough to just stick with?
