Netflix streaming 4K both in Dolby Vision and HDR10. Unfortunately I'm not on social media so won't be able to contact him myself. I do love the movie though so hopefully he becomes aware at some point and corrects it.

Thanks, he is on this forum? I will certainly get more timestamps the next time I watch. It would be helpful if some people here could check out the one at 1:17:45 though just to confirm. The person that verified the visual glitch at that timestamp on the AVS forum had a Sony Z9D like myself so I want to make sure it's happening on other brands as well.

Very sad to see the broadcasters that control so much content staying with the last generation of 720p/1080i SDR domain. Someone need to wake them up so they stop the bleeding of the consumers to the 4K HDR streaming services. Broadcasters need to look ahead and ascend with the times.

(CNN) Out-of-this-world news for fans of "The Office," outer space and subtle jabs at President Donald Trump: Steve Carell is set to star in a TV series called "Space Force" for Netflix.

Hopefully Panasonic have improved their TV's networking capabilities and they've re-introduced on-board DTS decoding, so all us people with NAS's can play our media files without loosing connection and hear DTS audio...

Yes, I know and agree that's the thinking, but at what point will any of the broadcasters consider that 4K HDR is important to the consumers? The model of increased revenue from creating more low resolution channels to sell ad space does not consider the viewers who have choices of Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and physical media for their content delivery.

The consumer 4K HDR TV market is very robust and 4K HDR capable TVs are pretty much all you can buy today. Once any consumer sees 4K HDR they don't enjoy watching broadcast 720p and 1080i and quickly change their viewing habits to more 4K HDR programming. So the model of delivering more low res content with standard dynamic range loses viewers and this trend gains momentum as more award winning series come out from Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Asia and the EU are far ahead of the USA TV Broadcasters in advancing the image performance and that formula is working well in those regions.

Naively, I thought ATSC 3.0 would bring us 4K HDR content, but sadly the USA broadcasters think differently and the big buzz for them is splitting up the bandwidth for more channels, 2nd screen delivery and 2-way feedback. All very cool features, but from what I can tell no one is moving forward with 4K HDR programming. ):

They film sporting events now in 8K but still only broadcast in 1080i, at best. And I don't understand why a big event like the Super Bowl can't at least be streamed in 4K?

U.S Broadcasting is a joke, which is why I don't even have cable. Whats the point of all these movies and TV shows if you never watch them? I have tons of content to watch for me and my fiance without watching it in shitty resolution. That's 130 I'm saving in cable helps me afford the movies and TV shows I want to own.

I believe broadcasters will start producing shows in 4K HDR for resale to Netflix, Hulu..., but will not broadcast in 4K unless their ratings go down the tubes. (Again it's all about money.)

Thank you Paul, having the O&O's original content on Netflix and Hulu is very good and sorry to admit I did not know that! Thanks for adding that to this discussion.

I will keep up my message to the broadcasters and OTT cable carriers to give us 4K HDR on select programming. So I'll be ok with just the content that would benefit the most from 4K HDR, like sports and prime time viewing hours with their exclusive series content.

Let's start delivering the new TV standard that is in almost every HD DHR capable TV purchased since 2017.

In order to broadcast 4K won't the broadcasters need to use ATSC 3.0 and the sets be capable of receiving OTA ATSC 3.0. Another to receive the broadcast of course would be cable and I assume the 4K would be in the HLG format for live content.

Broadcasters won't be in any hurry to upgrade to ATSC 3.0 until there is a proven way to make money from it.
