The thread is about movies that use 4K or higher masters, not movies that were shot only at 4K and above. So it belongs on the list. And more than that, 2.8K capture is literally double the pixels of 2K (if shooting spherical, 4x as much if shooting anamorphic) so there are still very tangible benefits from finishing it out to the higher resolution.

It is if you like simple binary yes/no answers to a question that's far more complex than the "fake 4K" crowd would like to admit, as it'd ruin their staunch anti-4K narrative.

BTW most movies shot at and finished in 4K don't have 4K VFX, that stuff is usually 2K upscaled, so that's something for people to consider when dribbling on about how "real" or "fake" a piece of 4K software is.

No facts to back it up, but just by look, despite the likely moderate budget (not that it should really add much expense at all these days for a non-SFX movie), I have a feeling Blinded By The Light was created with a 4k DI, if not, sure is one finely detailed 2k DI that could surely make used of UHD to get every last trace of the detail out and with all those 80s colors could sure make use of UHD wide gamut too
