Watch Baraka and Samsara blu rays and you will change your mind both shot in 70mm film which is equivalent to 8k or higher. The 70mm was scanned at 8k then saved to a 4k DCP for the blu ray, even on a average tv Baraka and Samsara blu rays look like they are proper 4k discs.

A small few like Baraka, Samsara, Ben-Hur etc do but not many others do. It's mostly certain older films shot in 70mm on 1080p blu ray that you could mistake for a 4k blu ray.

Classic old films shot in 70mm like Ben-Hur, Cleopatra, It's a mad mad mad mad world, Lawrence Of Arabia, 2001 A Space Odyssey are going to look amazing when they release on 4k blu ray discs

Yes, John Wick 2 & Hell or High Water for example.

However, both titles miss that extra type of crispness and specific sensor noise, which John Wick (2014) does have, also shot 2.8K finished on a 4K DI, like Darkest Hour.
