The main cinema i go to in Tel Aviv is still showing films via 35mm film projection (i know, the dark ages) rather than the 2160p digital projection. Even Darkest Hour was transfered to film for projection.

That's kinda awesome...but most of those are being filmed out from those same 2048x858 2K 'scope masters and then are losing at least one stage of generational loss by being printed from the digital filmout negative. There's some debate over whether Darkest Hour was actually finished in 4K but even if it wasn't a 2K UHD would still show more detail than a 35mm print.

A film print-out based off a digital IP. You're getting nothing better and something possibly worse than digital projection. Get on the 4k bandwagon. You're missing out!

Is Crazy Rich Asians 100% confirmed as having a 4K DI?
I know IMDB says so and this thread has it on its list, but it seems the blu-ray.com reviewer strongly disagrees. It's listed as 'Upscaled 4K' and in the standard BD review he makes this claim:

''According to IMDb, the film was finished on a 4K digital intermediate, but I have been advised by an authoritative source that the DI was, in fact, 2K''
