does that mean 4k finish for sure though
especially with the 2k DCP? and comments that it doesn't look much more detailed than the blu-ray (granted the Canon 1DX is kind of a soft 4k, not nearly as crisp as the Sony or high end gear, but should still look better than blu-ray, quite clearly) |

As for the Star Wars films, The Original Trilogy is native 4K, scanned from the negative just with the Special edition changes/additions inserted. The Force Awakens is only a 2K DI despite assumption from some that it's native, the IMAX scene might be native but that's all (theatrical DCP was 2K). The Prequels aren't native either as expected.

I think Jet Li's 'Hero' (2002) would greatly benefit from a 4k release. One of the most beautifully photographed movies.
