List of UHDs that utilize 4K or Higher Masters

Also, don't preorder (anything ever!) any Lionsgate title, too many issues on too many discs. Wait for the reviews and other consumer reactions.

Bummer.

But it should still be noticeably better than blu ray and better than a regular 2k upscale. Sicario was filmed at 3.4k and is reference quality, so 2.8 should be close.

Find it. The hunger games was 35mm film negative. 2K DI

If can handle to scanned 4K. Possible. Who know?

Mockingjay Parts 1&2 were filmed at the same time as one long movie, then separated for release. They were both shot on the Alexa XT anamorphically at 2.8k. Interestingly, the fx were rendered at the same resolution, then the whole thing upscaled for a 4k DI.

Catching Fire was filmed on 35mm and 65mm Imax and finished at 4k (with 2k upscaled fx).

UHD TV is more like 3.8k

UHD = 3840x2160
4k theatrical = 4096x2160.

People use 4k and UHD interchangeably even though they are slightly different.

When speaking about home theater and for not overcomplicating a simple thing... 4K = UHD = 3840px = 4000px = 4096px

All of these are used interchangeably when speaking about home theater, deal with it.
