HD Goofnut, not sure if you want to remove Blade Runner 2049. While the DCP was 4k, Roger Deakins said the DI was at the native camera resolution of 3.4k.

The film was shot at 3.4K, which is the full resolution with the Alexa in Open Gate. The entire workflow, including all the effects work, was kept at this originating resolution of 3.4K. The DCP was then made at 4K.

I guess it comes down to a super technicality. It's pretty much the same as Sicario in the end, just that the upscaling from 3.4k was done at different points. Sicario is on the list tho the master is a 4k Di that's upscaled. If we're taking a vote I'd say leave 2049 on the list.

Yeah, they changed it. Now it shows up as fake

There are quite a number of these movies shot with the Alexa XT @3.4K resolution. Just be glad that these are then worked on with 4K DI and not downscaled to 2K.

Do we know if BR2049 was shot with anamorphic lens?

Deakins doesn't often do anamorphic. He likes to frame up for 'scope but usually shoots it flat.

Which is a bummer because the anamorphics were a big part of the "look" of the original Blade Runner.
At least in the live action scenes.
