Planet Earth 2: even though it's about 15% upscaled, the other 85% is so amazing it has to be seen.
The Revenant: Still makes my jaw drop when watching. Pacific Rim: a prime example of how much benefit HDR makes to upscaling 2K images. There's many other fine examples like Blade Runner and John Wick 1 and 2 that are worth your time as well. |

PE 2
Revenant Lego Batman Mad Max Fury Road Top ones that I own and use as 4k demo material I also thought Starship troopers looked great for it's age but new 4k viewers might not be as astonished looking at it first. |

Surprised I havent seen anyone mention Lucy in here. I thought that was the go to movie for the longest time being one of the original few that was "real 4k". Aside from that I would agree with Revenant. For a third, I would probably use Alien Covenant to show off what HDR can do.

From the reviews that I have read these seems to be really worth the upgrade, and I will definitely buy them eventually.
Planet Earth II Revenant Sicario Shallows Also, I'm definitely going to buy these from Black Friday Ex Machina John Wick 1 & 2 I have not been impressed by Legend of Tarzan Pan Warcraft bought both 3D and 4k for these and ended up selling 4k. 3D was just much better experience. Pretty glad I got Logan Fate of Furious For me, 4k have not been that drastic of improvement I was hoping for. Maybe it's because I own OLED TV that already achieves "true black" even with regular blu-ray. Now when I got my 4k OLED TV, that was a WOW moment even with blu-ray upscaling. So if one goes from regular 1080p TV to any 4k TV with HDR that achieves deep black with more range of colors, I think all would agree that 4k is a huge improvement from blu-ray and it's really worth it. But comparing what OLED already does with 4k upscaling of blu-ray, most 4k disc have not been impressing me (granted, I only own 10 so far). There is a difference, but sometimes it's so minor that I wouldn't have notice if I didn't switch up the disc and compare. But especially the first 4 titles that I have mentioned, I only see absolute positive reviews about them and seem like a true upgrade. |

1. Planet Earth II
2. All the Nolan films coming out in December: Batman trilogy, Dunkirk, Interstellar, and Inception. I know you said for BF and only 3 ![]() 3. The Revenant Adding another recommondation here in case you're looking to only get 3 for JUST BF: 4. John Wick 2 has amazing usage of HDR and is impacted more by it than the 4K imo the PQ will show how good the format is. The sound is also incredible on this film. I'd pick up the first one if you haven't seen it Last edited by TpFox; 11-16-2017 at 07:43 PM. |
