Will try to do the monthly viewership stat for August later tonight as I’ve been informed by a good friend thru PM that we blasted thru the 1.5 million viewership threshold this month!

By the way, based on the compatibility list of TVs with Dolby Vision via the Xbox One X, it looks like the console is using the new low latency profile. Some Dolby Vision TVs, like the 2016 LG OLEDs, are not yet compatible. Meanwhile, the Sony TVs are.

^ zmarty, in case you’re flying by, try opening this version in Microsoft Edge browser at work and see how this low bitrate encoding -

Did the math so far and the preliminary figure for the August viewership for this thread is looking fine.

4K HDR can't be fully appreciated on a 55"

U might wanna consider a 2018Vizio P series if you are in North America. It's better than the NU8000. Better color and vibrancy and better black levels too. The hdr is "better" on the Vizio P (2018 version, not 2017).

^ Not a dry eye in our household this morning…especially since we lived for 4 years not much more than a stone’s throw away from the Washington National Cathedral, which made the service even that more identifiable to us.

John is a national treasure.

Something workflow unique –
A feature shot with RED Helium 8K camera, mastered and delivered to YouTube in 8K resolution -

I wished they’d also offered a 4K HDR version and done a 4K HDR v. 8K SDR side-by-side comparison (with enough separation to avoid crispening and Cornsweet effects) to show which has more visual value.

I would hesitate to call it bad.

so question. There's a certain someone on Youtube. I won't say that persons name but he's been doing SDR vs HDR videos lately. His claim is that SDR is better, and that HDR washes out colors (greenish tint on skin), etc...

Does he have his settings off? He purposely doing it?

Whatever way he's doing it, he's doing it wrong.
