The horse scenes are intact in this release.

I don't believe those horse scenes would have been edited as the Aussie one by Universal was not and this disk is done by Uni.
Sorry, I only have this information from the British Board of Film Censorship eh Classification:
http://www.bbfc.co.uk/website/Classi...ment#_Section2
Quote:
This work was cut. The cut(s) were Compulsory. To obtain this category cuts of 0m 18s were required.

Cuts required to three instances of real animal cruelty (horses made to fall using techniques likely to result in serious injury). Cuts made in accordance with the Cinematograph Films (Animals) Act 1937.

The running time of the UK version is 118:51. The running time of the French version is 119:09. So, going by the time (18 second difference), that would mean no edits were done.
I cannot check the disk itself until later on, but I am confident this release is completely uncut, and not edited like the UK version (it is unedited compared to the US version-that much I can confirm).

-Further note: my trick to get it to work on a BD30, it only shows the French Menu and will not let you access the sub-menu to change sound and subs. If you play it in a Region B player, the menus can be changed to English and all sub-menus work fine. According to kannisto as HDD, they are using some kind of new region protection that if certain B movies are put in a RA player, it will Display a 50hz "trailer" which no RA BD player can display. This problem does not occur on a RB BD player.

Any word on if Journey to the Center of the Earth is Region Free?

It's a New Line release, they normally aren't, but their last couple of releases (Sex and the City & Mongol) have been Region Free, so I'm hoping that this one is.

Anyone know if any of Universal's UK releases are region free?
