simply put they think people wont pay attention to that or maybe its some dudders trying to tell these people the wrong information so that more people will buy the dud version

No one should ever pay attention to what region Amazon lists for a particular disc. Go to an independent source for that information. Amazon frequently gets the region coding wrong!

Does anyone know if "Robbie Williams: Live at the Royal Albert Hall" is region free? I had this on DVD and it is a great concert. He covers a number of tunes from the catalogs of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Bobby Darin and others. I wanna pick this one up!

Learn't that the hard way with Live Free & Die Hard! Amazon had it listed as Region Free. When it arrived, Region A!!!

Harry Potter movies are now updated to be region free. Die Hard had already the most correct information (region coded).

I I do not have time to change so many more titles.

The DTV forum is now showing this movie (WAR) as region free. Along with both new to blu-ray releases of the resident evil movies. Can some one here confirm this before i buy all 3 from amazon for my region b player. Thanks

both new resident evil's are region free. don't know about war, but there's no region info about on back cover. so it might be region free.

Isn't it time that the studios realised that they should remove the region coding on discs? Especially discs that have already been released? They are losing out on huge sales volumes at duty free shops around the world as well as increasing costs to the consumer by having to print different versions in smaller volumes for different regions?

Warner are showing (because they dual release with HD-DVD) that region coding is not necessary

I can see some justification for region coding at the time of a staggered worldwide release, but as soon as that is done, subsequent production runs should be region free.

As posted above:

Resident Evil: the Trilogy [US] (Region A) (Region Free)
Resident Evil [US] (Region A) (Region Free)
Resident Evil: Extinction [US] (Region A) (Region Free)

No info on War besides lacking of info on cover. Check link in my signature for updates.

What happens when you put a restricted disc in your machine? Does it go black, come up with a crappy message or what?

It comes up a message that says the region on the disc and the player missmatch.

A crappy message...

Default Amazon Japan Blu-Ray Regional Code

Amazon Japan lists several releases that are out in Japan, but not yet here in the USA. Amazon jp indicates Japanese Blu-Rays as being Region 2. I was under the impression that Japan BRDs are Region A -- just like here in the USA. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks.
