And you know what? Kick-Ass would have been a much better movie, if her dialogue was less profane.

I agree that it was a way for the producers to get publicity for Kick Ass--and bring in more money. And you're right, it really would have still been a fine movie without giving Hit Girl that kind of dialogue.

Humor! You mean hearing a little girl cussing profusely was funny? I guess everybody have a different sense of humor, but I hardly found her character humorous, even though, I liked the movie overall.

The only Blu-ray I have that I regret buying is The Spirit. I thought, "How bad could it be? Frank Miller is a great comic book writer and he co-directed the Sin City movie." Needless to say it's a piece of crap and the only reason I haven't traded it in, given it away, or destroyed it is because I paid $27.99 + tax for it. I have quite a few other Blu-rays that I don't care for and will probably trade or sell at some point, but none as bad as The Spirit.

I found that last year at Blockbuster for about $10 pre-viewed and I blind bought it. Once I saw it I promptly sold it on eBay.

Ok... not going to argue if it was "right" to have a 13 year old in the movie doing these things, but I feel like I need to interject since everyone seems to be making claims about this film that are totally wrong.

Hit-Girl's character wasn't a violent potty mouthed 13 year old girl, because the producers and studios wanted to make money... in fact... she was that way because that's exactly how her character was in the comic book... and if the studios would of had their way... Hit-Girl's character would have been changed to a teenager.

Mathew Vaughn and Mark Millar brought this movie to numerous studios that were interested in it... only if the Hit Girl character was changed. So instead of doing what the studios wanted, Vaughn raised the money to make it independently... then after the finished product started getting buzz and screenings the studios came running with their check books open.

So, if there was a Trilogy that's serialized (such as the LOTR trilogy) and you only like 2 out of the 3 movies, you'd still only buy those 2 movies??

For me it was Back to the Future trilogy. Bad packaging design. Heavy DNR and EE. First movie is great, second is OK, third was ehhh. Though I wouldn't have felt as much guilt if I had waited and got it when it was on sale a few months ago with that Best Buy coupon which made it about $10.00? I forget.

here here, also many people seem to forget that Kick-ass wasn't a "superhero" film per se, but almost a mockery or at the very least a deconstruction of a superhero movie. Hit girl was created the was she was for a reason.

I admit that I have this sickness where my collection must be complete and what's worse is that it needs to be complete NOW. So I end up buying stuff sooner than I intended just so I can complete my collection asap. And later on, I realize that it doesn't have the replay value that I thought it would have. I know, it's a sickness and that's why I have a long "Blu-rays I wish I didn't buy" list. My DVD list is even longer.

Think about it.... you buy a TV show and have 4 out of 5 seasons. the 5th season is bad, but you buy it anyway to complete your collection of that show despite how awful that season is. I'm sure many of us have done that. I don't see how completing one's Pixar collection is any different.

I've bought sequels that were of lesser quality because I found them somewhat enjoyable. However I'd never buy something I didn't like under the guise of being a "completionist". It's why I only have Mission Impossible 1 an 3. If it's that bad I pretend it doesn't exist.

I wish I hadn't bought X-men Origins: Wolverine. It was only $6 new, but I didn't realize it was a B-movie.

I used to be like that. I remember when "Friends" was coming out on DVD, there were too many seasons to buy, so I just bought a few of my favorite seasons, which were 4, 5, and 6. Then my friend came over and saw them on my shelf and said, "What is wrong with you? You're buying the Friends sets, why not start with Season 1?" I then told him that I was buying only my favorite seasons and that I had no intention of buying Seasons 1-3. He then shook his head as if I was crazy. After that, I got so embarrassed and one thing led to another and I ended up buying ALL 10 seasons so my collection would become complete.

After a few years, I then got tired of the show and I rarely rewatched them, so I ended up selling all 10 seasons later on.

I have two...

the first one was "Battle:LA". I watched the trailer and thought it looked awesome. So i ignored all the reviews, and bought it for $12. It wasnt bad, but one of the worst ones i have

and the second one is the "Scream" Trilogy. I love these movies, so last December I went out and imported the Canadian Trilogy for $40. Then they announced the US trilogy. Once I realized my mistake (i should have known they would come out with Scream 4), I thought about selling it, but noticed amazons price was now at $20 something.... and to make it worse i hate the case

I doubt very seriously Jodie got some huge paycheck back then... she was still essentially a nobody.

What it DOES revert back to is the fact that these people are ACTORS. They play roles. It doesn't mean Jodie is really a prostitute at age 12. It's make believe.

All this moral servitude has made everything way too PC these days... you can't say/do/think anything without someone getting offended. And it's usually a non-issue... but people love to impose their slim views upon the world and think they are absolute and right. And art is suffering for it.

And that's fine if that's your belief. But last I checked, there was no law (like there is for nudity) that prohibits children from using profanity. So the fact that she's "underage" really is a moot point, since there is no age where it becomes acceptable.

Commando
Franklyn
Gran Torino

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride

Hm..I think I posted in here before..don't remember...but honestly none. I only really buy ones that I know I want. I mean, sometimes I blind buy but I don't regret it a lot of the time. A considerable chunk of my collection is upgrades from DVD's I own, so I already like them. The only film I really regret buying is The Ward. It was a pretty boring / cheap looking film. Had an OK plot I guess, but I don't really think any of the actors / actresses pulled it off. I wish I wouldn't have bought it.

I have a couple, but they were all PVs from BBV. Two I can think of right off are:

I can enjoy bad horror movies. They are guilty pleasures... but this one is... well... just plain boring really.

The problem with this one might be that I had high expectations going into it. It's hardly what I expected from a Werner Herzog directed film... plus produced by David Lynch? What the hell went wrong? Not sure if I'm going to give it a second chance or not before selling it.

What's nice is that I'm sure I can get my money back by selling them since I got them so cheap. Just bringing them to the pawn shop would probably get my money back if that's why I do decide.
