One of the best transfer? Not according to me. My equipments and my eyes are fine too. I don't know how it is getting 4.5 to 5 rating. But then again these same people are also giving Enter the Dragon high rating even though there were aparent aliasing going on throughout the movie.

Yeah, I understand these movies are catalog titles but since they are on Blu Ray, I'm expecting more for my money, especially when it comes to PQ.

Well since no one said it I guess I'm the only one that bought this movie. So for me the worst movie that I bought has got to be, hands down Be Kind and Rewind.

A Stir of Echoes (the movie) is based on a 50 year old Richard Matheson novel of the same name.

M. Night (never-had-a-original-idea) Shyamalan borrowed quite heavily from the book.

In fact, while publicizing The Happening, in a interview for Coming Soon (www.comingsoon.net) M. Night admits he had read the book and was always fascinated by the questions about death that Matheson brings up in the novel.

It is unfortunate that the Echoes movie is so poorly done that it will always be remembered as a Sixth Sense wana-be, and the original book has been forgotten.

Steve McQueen's (and Sam Peckinpaw's) THE GETAWAY. Bought it months ago and finally watched it over the weekend. So damned annoying to watch. The final few minutes are merely OK; but leading up to that, it just seemed as if they kept improvising, and poorly. Ali Mcgraw was just bad, bad, bad.

Now, BULLITT, with Steve McQueen, was incredible. That I recommend.

The Italian Job - great movie, but this has to be the single worst transfer to a home video medium ever done.

Hitch - I really like this movie, but the PQ is just not up to par for a newer movie.

Payback-Director's Cut. Everything in the movie got changed around and a couple of important scenes were removed.

Payback: Straight Up. I love the theatrical version, and thought a director's cut would be even better. They should have left it alone or put both versions on the disc.

Water Horse: Legend of the Deep ----Not a horrible movie. PQ was okay, and the audio was actually very good. It just has very little to no re-watchability. I'm sorry I blind-bought and spent the Blu-ray money on something I will probably never watch again.

Forgive me for not liking a certain movie because it sucked.
If you liked it, fine! I have no problem with that.
Apparently, I have to change my personal preferences to suit a few posters here and their tastes in movies - Aint Happening!

The movie had crap for PQ.
Nothing wrong with my displays or my neighbor's Panny.

Here:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movie...ow=screenshots

Awesome screenies, huh?
Superb PQ

BTW, Who gives a sh** about AVS?
LMAO!
Man, I really want to call you mj.
Is that you mj? I think it is... wassup dude!

EDIT: I think I know what the confusion here is...
The PQ of 300 on BD may very well be great in that it is a good transfer and real to the cinematic play of the movie.
As one that doesn't rate a movie on this level or aspect, I couldn't care less!
I rate a movie's PQ as to HOW IT LOOKS overall - on these displays and a rather nice Panasonic HDTV.
So, HERE, on these displays and on the Panasonic, the PQ of the movie was poor.
Poor in that it cannot compare to... I, Robot.
Or, Speed Racer.
Or, any of the Pixar animations I have.

Does that clear it up for you?
If not, I'm sorry.
300 sucked. Period!

It is now obvious to all that you have no idea what you are talking about. Your comments regarding PQ in general and AVS are proof of that.

By the way...we aren't talking about a few people. We are talking about the vast majority of viewers, the vast majority of reviewers, and the vast majority of film enthusiasts who actually understand how to properly judge PQ.

Just what is your display by the way?

Wait a minute...are you basing your PQ assessment on laptop viewing? 17"

17" 1920x1200 @ 22" is spot on for viewing distance and viewing angle - but you would know that.
The neighbor's Panasonic HDTV and Home Theater?
Never looked for the model number of the Panny, or the Yamaha reciever, but they are Klipsch speakers - no idea the models.

So, if everyone jumped off a cliff, would you?
I wouldn't. I'd not be a lemming and make up my own mind!

YMMV!

Comment on the Panny... the HDTV that is hanging on the neighbor's livingroom wall.

See... you are mj, huh?

LOL!
Yeah, we all know BDs are useless without a 70" HDTV, huh?

Why would I comment on a display that you don't even own?

Because you know better to talk smack about a Panasonic HDTV that gets used regularly to display BDs.
It was also used to playback 300 - which still looked like ass!
Steve asked me if it was a f***ed up disc or a DVD. LOL!
I showed him the BD case and the disc itself. He was not impressed.

So, your comments about my laptop are a joke.
Yeah, even when played on my laptop - 300 looked like crap!

Whatever pal, you can go back to your happy place now!

Talk to him!
He can't seem to accept that a few of us think the movie was less than great.
