Lets say I was a movie studio and I had today decided that I was going to put my films on the bluray format. Lets assume that I already had an HD Master of the film and all my audio and menu were complete.

How long would it take for me to get my film in stores?

This has NOTHING to do with WHEN Universal or Paramount make a decision. I know you cant go there, but I am curious is that IF they decided to go back to bluray whats a reasonable amount of time that they could get their first disc into consumer hands?

Again, Im not asking for hints about Paramount and Universal's doings behind the scenes. It should be quite obvious what they are doing.

Hopefully this question wont get me in too much trouble.

ooo very good question i like it a lot! i hope we can get an answer to this!

That would be amazing. I'll keep my fingers crossed and watch as HD-DVD gets But from the way you make it sound, there are several more BIG announcements on the way. Nothing quite like being on the winning team.

Think of this as a million of Toshiba HD-DVD players going down, caused by he chain reaction started by WB, Net-Flix, Best Buy...

So the M and C stood for Bugs Moran and Al Capone!! Now that as obscure as you can get.

Is this a guess or did Penton tell you?

Hey, why did Penton capitalize the "M" and "C" in More to Come? Hmmm.. MCA is owned by Universal!!!
Thank you Penton!

And as far as the capitalized MC, I'm going to guess Master of Ceremonies (MC or emcee), which could be Ken Graffeo and Universal.

I can dream, can't I? Eagerly awaiting!

Oh come on ...Panasonic is as Blu as Sony. If I had to play the "MC" game, the only thing I could think of is Microsoft Corporation ...as in a Blu-ray drive add-on for the xbox360. Even that is a stretch for now.

Not sure that More to Come has more meaning than just 'more to come', but I was suprised by both of the announcements today and another in the next few days would just be great.

I am starting to think that the real identity of Penton-Man is actually Steve Jobs.

"More to Come" and "One more thing" are sounding very similar and they really keep the excitement going.

Care to fess up Mr. Jobs, errrrrr I mean Penton-Man????

More to Come?

Not only based on the "More to Come" but indications from Max about it taking more than a studio going exclusive but retailers going exclusive before Viacom can trigger the escape clause, I suspect that Paramount is the next. Maybe they'll be able to keep Toshiba's cash too. Wouldn't that be funny!?

And I thought because of the age of the article that it made it a good candidate for Penton to use. I liked the "Shuffle at Paramount" in the original title also. Certainly the content of the article doesn't apply to the current situation.

Well, there was talk about Amazon dropping the red team.

There was also a "little" chatter about Walmart.

I see Amazon though being a much bigger impact hit than Walmart though. Loss of major studio support now happening, loss of major retailer jumping ship, loss of major retail rental chain jumping ship and now a major on-line rental house jumping ship. Another on-line hit would be big!

Penton... It would be cool if the BDA could announce a death blow on April 1st
The ironny would be SOOO awesome

All the DUD fanboys would think it's a joke but it really would'nt be

I know it's cruel but they deserve it

Sometimes I think Penton-Man now and then just randomly bolds and/or colors a few words/letters just to sit back and watch the speculation explosion that follows.

(If he doesn't, then I'm very impressed with his restraint, because I sure wouldn't be able to resist if I had the power to drive people insane with a little formatting like that.)
