I am an associate director in a production company. Our house has produced over 10 films(Bengali). We wanted to keep our work in blu-ray format. We have a FCP 5 with a blu-ray writer and I am quite friendly with Adobe Encore. But my main problem is with the codec. While exporting the movie from the timeline I need to know which codec I should use to get the best output. Our films are mostly shot in a P2 camera with 1920X1080 resolution. We dump it with Apple Prores HQ. Please help me because I am not getting any concrete answer from anybody.

Godspeed

Seeing as Sony have also fully restored from here to eternity
What are the chances of seeing a blu-ray in 2011
I can't imagine Sony undergoing such a restoration without
Making some money on a blu-ray release also

Is there any chance of seeing this title or on the waterfront around the Oscar season ?

Best regards
Jon
Neither are currently scheduled, but you and other fans of the films should best send a note or fax to the studio (or e-mail SPHE customer support) politely asking for them to be released on Blu-ray.

I used to do polls here to gauge members’ input, but alas, not so much anymore.

I see that Stacey S. has nice contribution(s) here…https://forum.blu-ray.com/blu-ray-mo...28-2010-a.html
Stacey, which color grading system/toolset did you (or your colorist) use for the finishing? Looks good.

P.S.
Not quite the same as your experience with lighthouses but when we’re in San Diego for the weekend, my wife and I fairly often take a little hike with our dog over to the Old Point Loma Lighthouse….http://www.360cities.net/image/old-p...0.00,0.00,49.3
which actually is in a scene from the feature film Antwone Fisher.

Yeah and they replaced him with Paul II (Must be Catholic? ). Anyway, they don't know whether the new Octopus has the same "talent" as the original yet.

Hey, he's still here, just a little short on time right now

But you probably would like to hear that we are finally going to show Lawrence of Arabia and Lord Jim in Berlin, here is the announcement for Lawrence that plays next week:

Astor Film Lounge Lawrence

Right now about 85% of the seats are reserved so it seems the turnout will be really good, especially considering the time of the day (Sunday matinee 10 AM).

So thanks again to you, Grover and Nick Varley from Park Circus - you guys all made it possible

And my best regards to Grover and his team on the Blu-Ray of "The Bridge on River Kwai" This one is a winner, unlike some other high profile classic/catalog release I won't mention.

A great deal of effort and intensive work went into the restoration of ‘Kwai’ (for example, https://forum.blu-ray.com/blu-ray-mo...ml#post3931085) and for some perspective, ‘Lawrence’ is longer and even a more complicated restoration project.

For further perspective, there are lesser known restorations being done and have been done, which few home theater enthusiasts are cognizant of, but still should be recognized as virtuous endeavors in conserving our motion picture heritage, see Virtue (1932)
http://www.cinema.ucla.edu/calendar/..._type=2&id=421 (the presenter Michael F. serving also on the Adjunct Faculty at U.C.L.A.)

P.S. Best wishes with your showing.

And every time they do that, somebody just comes along and blows it up again.

call me crazy but Id say its a GOOD thing when you have a female oriented titled, Sex and the City 2 dominating the sales charts. To me it says that bluray is reaching a wider demographic and that can ONLY be a good thing for the format.

Agree Penton?

I still remember the words to the theme song:

"Comet ... will make your mouth turn green
Comet ... tastes worse than Listerine
Comet ... will make you vomit
So drink some Comet and vomit today"

At least those are the words I learned in the 4th grade.

Too bad it's one of the worst movies of the year.

was watching the video of Bill and team on stage at his site, was disappointed it wasn't an opportunity for use to pin down your real identity (unless, of course, you're secretly Rita Belda)
