It could of been the same story arc, but there was a Jar Jar ep that had one of the coolest scenes in the whole series in it. The take-down of Grievous in a brutal fashion.

How have I only just found out about this?!

I'm so down with this being a huge The Clone Wars and Rebels fan an' all.

That's something that I appreciated a lot with both Rebels and CW, the amount of movie homages put a massive shit-eating grin on my face. People knock Rebels as being too kiddie-fied but the Jaws skit with Rex and the other old Clones (near the start of S2 I think?) was a joy to watch.

I love the fact that they bought Rex back and made him a recurring character.

He's definitely one of the best characters in The Clone Wars imo.

Pity that they didn't do anything with him in the Rebels finale, I thought he'd go out in a blaze of glory defending Lothal seeing as he doesn't pop up in the post-prequel era (well, how could he if the character wasn't created yet? ) but then we just get told almost as an afterthought that he fought in the battle of Endor etc etc. Pffft.

As I said, with Filoni at the helm of the latest cartoon then I don't think we've seen the last of Ahsoka, Rex and the like.

Actually, Rex WAS at the Battle of Endor. It had been a long-running fan theory, so the "afterthought" you're referencing was actually a big confirmation for a lot of people:

I don’t think it’s actually 2D animation, it’s just going to be stylised to look more like anime I think, so probably cel shaded 3D. I expect 2D would just take too long to do nowadays, at high enough quality, for the amount of episodes this show will presumably end up having.

Hopefully Luke, Leia and Han will appear in this in some shape or form.

I just finished watching Clone Wars again. There was an episode where the Separatists were stealing old relics from a planet that was invaded. As Dooku talks to someone in the foreground you can see two battle droids in the background carrying the Ark of the Covenant up a ramp to their ship. It's quick, but no mistake - it's an Indy homage.

I heard Filoni shot down the Ezra is Snoke theory which really bums me out. Since they ended the show the way they did - I thought for sure that's the route they were going. It would totally explain why there was no back story to his character. Bummer, it would of saved any interest in watching those two films again.

You sure Filoni confirmed it?
I remember he just said that's a theory he would be fine with.

Did Dave ever say why they are changing from the established 3d Star Wars animation to 2d?

Because once again they think they know what the fans want. Let’s see if this instance of Star Wars pandering backfires like a lot of the other Disney/Lucasfilm “strategies”

Oh wow. This amazing confirmation is that some bearded extra who meant jack shit 35 years ago is now Rex. I'm gonna need to lie down after that incredible revelation.

Look, I'm not talking about some fan-theory crap (and I include Filoni in this), I'm talking about actually giving Rex a proper send off, instead of Ezra just saying "Rex fought in the battle of Endor", and I'm still sore that the show got wrapped up as quickly (and as deus ex machina-y) as it did. Pfffft, again. It's funny that Clone Wars had the plug pulled on it and still managed to get a decent enough finish on things, whereas they knew this was coming for Rebels and managed to bodge it.

The animation keeps getting worse. Clone Wars was better than Rebels which is likely to be better than Resistance.

I love the DC Animated Universe, but my biggest wish is that they would move to 3D animation. 2D is a step backwards for Star Wars. But I bet it is cheaper.

I can pretty much 100% guarantee that it’s 3D animation. However, it’ll be cel shaded to look stylistically like 2D animation, but otherwise, it’s the same idea as the previous animated shows.

LOVE the look of that new Resistance ship btw, exactly the kind of new design I was wanting to see in TFA.
