Well, ten of them are. Infinity War 2 is the last part of Phase 3. Phase 3 is huge because it's leading up to it. We need to leave more to do once it's over.

Beyond that, it's helping introduce and set up characters for films, phases, and storylines beyond Infinity War. Infinity War is supposed to be the climax of everything that has happened and all of the characters introduced in the MCU so far. Since they haven't been introduced yet, it makes sense to hold off until after Infinity War since that would be a whole 'nother group of characters that would need to be worked in.

Ant-Man ended Phase 2, so Marvel's willing to have movies other than Avengers films end the phases. While they could change their mind, I'm thinking it's going to remain all one phase. While it's being released as two separate films, Avengers: Infinity War is all one storyline, so it makes sense to keep them in the same Phase. I can't see them doing one phase of seven films and another of only four films. Earlier they were limited because of only doing one or two films a year. Now that they've moved on to three a year, it makes sense for the phases to increase in size.

I'm hoping Inhumans stays right where it is, and helps set up new characters for Phase 4, similar to Ant-Man in Phase 2, rather than be forced out sooner just to cameo in Infinity War. As is, they could do a Black Panther/Spider-Man thing and introduce the Inhumans in a minor role in Infinity War if they wanted, as a means of introducing them to the audience before their own film.
Thanks for clearing some things up. Your post helped me understand what Marvel/Disney is trying to do with Phase 3. I'm a little more confident now on the Inhumans being released at that certain time. I mean, I'm sure Disney and Marvel knows what they're doing, so I guess I can't really complain and say they're making a wrong decision.

Anyway, another question... how in the world is Thanos going to be able to take on literally every superhero in the MCU at the same time? How can he be so powerful?

So, Inhumans will begin Phase 4 then?

And I counted 11 movies coming out in the future if you include the Spider-Man solo movie.

I'm counting ten without Inhumans. But yeah, it's supposed to start phase 4, but things can change.

Hopefully Marvel will manage to get the rights back to Fantastic Four before Phase 4 because Fantastic Four for Phase 4 would make so much sense.

That's wrong. Marvel hasn't announced any Phase 4 films yet. As of right now, Inhumans is part of Phase 3, and has been since it was announced alongside the rest of Phase 3. While it could change, Marvel will likely want to start Phase 4 with a big movie, similar to how they moved back Ant-Man to the end of Phase 2 rather than use it to launch Phase 3 like originally planned.

You're right. I was more thinking titled films, but you're right, they've announced dates already.

Will Coulson ever be in a Marvel movie again? I love the MCU and Agents of SHIELD. I didn't like the way they brought him back, but after it was done I've hated even more that he doesn't have any contact with The Avengers.

They have to bring him back, otherwise why have him resurrected for Agents of SHIELD?

This bothers me. I'm pretty sure that what Coulson and his SHIELD agents do on a daily basis doesn't go unnoticed by any member of the Avengers. Sure, Lady Sif and Maria Hill along with Nick Fury know Coulson is very well alive, but not Steve? Tony? Natasha? Or even Hawkeye? Don't tell me any of them do not now of Coulson's existence.

I'm curious to know if during a dire situation in either part of Infinity War, Coulson and his team show up to rescue the Avengers. I want to see that happen.

And if it does, it needs to be followed by a dramatic moment between The Avengers and Coulson about Coulson not bothering to tell them he's alive. Those character moments are important IMO.

I read somewhere that Coulson was only brought back for the TV show because they needed a lead character and that they want to keep him dead in the films because that's apparently the continuity they want to maintain in the films.

They're talking a load of rubbish, given Agents of SHIELD is part of the same continuity.

Didn't they name-drop Director Coulson when the helicarrier arrived in Age of Ultron?

From the sound of it, Whedon didn't want Coulson brought back, but Disney needed him to anchor the Shield tv show, so we end up with a shared universe where part of it just ignoring Coulson. I don't know how they could resolve it now. Awkward.

Probably by having Coulson unexpectedly save the Avengers.
