The majority of these characters have already been established before, so you still don't need to spend that much time with a lot of them. They also don't need equal amount of screentime either. They just need their moments to shine for just a few minutes. And keep in mind, this is an Avengers movie. Characters like Doctor Strange and Spider-Man aren't exactly core members, and Guardians of the Galaxy don't need as much screentime as The Avengers. It will be like Captain America: Civil War. You have The Avengers in it, but the main focus is still on Steve.

It is rumored that The Avengers 4 will actually be loosely based on Secret Invasion. Now that's being stylistically different. However, The Avengers dealing with both Thanos (with all of the infinity stones) and Skrulls is WAY too much to deal with.

The Secret Invasion/Skrulls rumors are completely fan-created and unsubstantiated, all because they announced they are the villains in Captain Marvel. I am almost certain that we won't see Skrulls before her movie.

But I still think Skrulls won't be a part of Avengers 4. I think the Skrulls are introduced in Captain Marvel, and that phase 4 is a slow burn tease of them approaching as the main villains for the end of the phase, like Thanos was.

I think Avengers 1 should have been the last movie, and had Thanos as the enemy. Seriously, since when has a film series needed six movies to successfully tell a story? The best multi-part film series have been two or three films long. And to think they're thinking of continuing after Avengers 4. Yawn...

It could have been something really special. Especially if they had have a few years gap between films too, allowing us to really soak it in. Instead it's turned into a TV show with really good effects and long episodes.

It's not just telling a "Single story" though because we are given movies that exist in the same connected universe but tell separate stories of individual characters and then have them team up for a single large scale movie.

So they're completely justified in the way they do things and audiences clearly don't mind or they wouldn't make hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office.

Also I have seen the trailer for The Avengers: Infinity War, and it seems like everyone is already getting their asses kicked by Thanos. So what the hell will The Avengers 4 be about then? Thanos kicking their asses some more? Kinda contradicts what Kevin Feige and the Russo brothers are saying about The Avengers 4 being a stylistic different movie.

I'm confused. Are you talking about the comics Infinity War and Thanos Quest, or are you just assuming The Avengers 4 is Thanos Quest? I honestly don't care. I just want a great stand-alone movie.
