I was tempted to check out this new Secret Wars and the Infamous Iron Man series, just because of Dr. Doom, but I fear I may be lost due to how continuity heavy everything is anymore.
2015 Secret Wars was pretty damn entertaining. It had a lot of action and a somewhat serious/mature tone. Plus, as you can see, the artwork is superb.

I myself do not religiously follow comics. I read them every now and then. The beginning of Secret Wars does a good job at explaining how things got to be in the first issue.

Of course, like always, the crossover stories and issues that lead into the 2015 series would enhance a better understanding of Secret Wars core story. That's all up to you but ya should be good with only reading the nine-part series.

Marvel remixing stories is lazy writing.

Shit... the original Secret Wars Part 2 was terrible.

Redoing Thanos/Infinity Gaunt with Doom a child can write.

Isn't that what comics are about, re-doing classic stories?

Also, how about the many times DC has rebooted their comics? Doesn't make it any different from Marvel remixing stories for newer audiences.

Infinity Gauntlet was a new story. Thanos Quest and Infinity War are related.

Im not talking about reboots.

There was no reason for Civil War 2.

New stories are whats needed, not taking a popular arc and replacing the villain.

Fans should be demanding origin shit, not falling for replicas.

Yeah, at least DC had the balls to make Watchmen canon to the DC universe.

Okay. I can agree with your point. Civil War 2 was completely irrelevant.

I'm not much of a comics enthusiast, but my friend has said that Doom is currently the most powerful of all Marvel villains.

Thats cool but they already have The Question, Blue Beetle, Captain Atom and the rest of Charleston who the Watchmen are derived from.

He hasn't been done right in a movie yet. Mads Mikkelsen would be absolutely outstanding if done correctly. I'd love to see Thing done right too, big and CGI like the Hulk. Say what you will about the humor in Marvel movies, I love it. The Fantastic Four would fit right in and be so great in the MCU. I wish they could get it back from FOX.

The MCU would get a great boost if they could acquire the FF for the Post Infinity War phases.

BUT i wouldnt mind an FF universe thats its own animal thats not reliant on the MCU.

The genre needs competition for it to flourish.
We dont need Deadpool, Netflix, X-Men, etc all under Disney.

I love that the X-Men are their own universe over at Fox. I think Deadpool works great over there too. I love the street level characters on Netflix. I think it all works perfectly. The Fantastic Four would be perfect in the MCU though. And I like the movies better when S.H.I.E.L.D. was active. Sounds like they are coming back in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Yeah maybe Tony Stark could fund Reeds experimental ship and after they come back from being bathed in Cosmic rays, all four member can wear uniforms designed by Stark tech.
Sue can have a crush on Tony. Johnny will look up to Stark. Reed will be jealous and be relagated to being not as smart as Stark.
Ben Grimm can date Alicia who works at the Avengers compound or for Pepper Potts. H.E.R.B.I.E. was designed by Tony too.
Doom went to MIT with Stark instead of Reed, and wants the Ultimate Nullifier that is housed at the Baxter Building...(designed by Pepper Potts).
The FF will get help from Stark in preventing Doom and his robots from decimating Midtown while attacking the Baxter Building.

Make sure you get your writers credit when this happens
