No. Last Jedi has 3 million cumulative conversations. Black Panther has 960,000.

Which is why I don't understand the chart. I get Thor: Ragnarok being all the way on top because the movie is the most recent thing coming out. But we're still months away from Black Panther.

I looked at chart again. The movies were ranked by NEW conversations, not cumulative.

Take into account that we just got a new trailer for it as well.

I'm aware that Black Panther recently got a new trailer, so of course more people are going to talk about it. But then again, so did Star Wars: The Last Jedi as well. Not to mention, Star Wars fans love to theorize things so much.

You would need to find out where Comscore is pulling their data.

Regardless, this movie should do big at the box-office. I just wonder if it will top the first one. I remember when people overhyped Age of Ultron, but that still didn't do as well. Also audiences don't like when a story is split into to movies. Some might feel cheated.

It depends on how invested people are. Also how the first part is received. Splits did not hurt Harry Potter or Twilight.

Better examples would be The Matrix and Pirates of the Caribbean. When Harry Potter did it, it actually made sense because that book was massive. The less said about Twilight the better.

But....Matrix and Pirates never advertised as 'Part 1/Part 2' in their sequels

That statement is really irrelevant.

I thought that the Matrix Reloaded destroyed all the good will that was gained with the Matrix. There was no way Revolution was going to do better than Reloaded.

Lol Infinity War will be huge. Avengers+ GoTG for the first time and culmination of the MCU. Splitting into 2 parts is better for the story instead of having one overstuffed and disjointed movie.

Agreed, and I think it is a little difficult to use history to figure out these movies. These movies have done something no other studio has been able to do.

Yeah, but once Reloaded and Dead Man's Chest ended, people must have felt cheated because those movies didn't have a proper closer. I believe the same happened to The Empire Strikes Back as well. But overtime, The Empire Strikes Back did get better praise.

That is what you call ending with a cliffhanger. I didn't feel cheated. I was excited for the next installment.

Do you not like cliffhanger or two-part films?

Depends on the story and franchise. I mean, I completely understand why Marvel is doing. So I'm not really complaining about that. But I do prefer more stand-alone and self-contain films the most.
